I am not on the road full time yet, but my dog is nervous on our drives too. My dad made a platform that has a slot for the seat belt and 2 legs on the front because it goes up to the dashboard (the legs fold up to be put away if I want a human to ride) and I put her dog bed on top. It makes a big comfy area for her to stretch out and she can more easily put her head out the window because the platform goes over to the door (I really wish I could upload a picture because I'm not sure I'm doing a good job describing it. 😆). I think it makes her feel more stable, kinda like what having your desk in front of the seat does for Eliza.

Its a DANGEROUS route. Too much scenery i ran my moto on that route and even that was dangerous stopping, flipping u turns, and STARING at the natural beauty. Lol. That lighthouse at Point Reyes is perhaps the most beautiful in the country.

I plan on plugging my Fridge/ice chest into the BLUETTI. My husband just installed 200 watts of solar on the roof but we need to make sure the small Bluetti that we have (500 w) is fully charged. We have a couple of portable Bluetti solar panels too so having a backup bank would be awesome.

I cut my Aussie vacation short in mid December due to a Cyclone. I headed back to the USA and landed in Los Angeles. I live in Florida and still had 10 days left of vacation, so I rented a car and drove 1200 miles to Port Angeles, Washington State and took the Blackball Ferry to Victoria, BC to see my brother. Then I drove the 12-13 hours back to LA. Lovely drive!

I would suggest to use at least 300AH Lifepo4 batteries and at least 300W solar plus additional Alternator charging. That would solve your power issues and you can run your fridge reliability. The Redwoods are majestic. I spent a summer in Humbolt County and would drive to a beach just south of Orick. It may have been Dry Lagoon Beach?--sits right on the ocean--parked my car there and watched surfers and birds. Also ate at Edebees Snack Shack in Orick. Have a nice holiday.
