Driving Downtown - Brooklyn New York City New York USA - Episode 41.
Starting Point: goo.gl/maps/UT... .
Brooklyn is the most populous of New York City's five boroughs, with a Census-estimated 2.6 million residents in 2015.
In the first decades of the 21st century, Brooklyn has experienced a renaissance as an avant garde destination for hipsters,[4] with concomitant gentrification, dramatic house price increases, and a decrease in housing affordability.[5] Since 2010, Brooklyn has evolved into a thriving hub of entrepreneurship and high technology startup firms,[6][7] and of postmodern art[8] and design.
Economy
Since the late 20th century, Brooklyn has benefited from a steady influx of financial back office operations from Manhattan, the rapid growth of a high-tech and entertainment economy in DUMBO, and strong growth in support services such as accounting, personal supply agencies, and computer services firms.
Construction and services are the fastest growing sectors. Brooklyn is also home to many banks and credit unions.
Culture
Brooklyn has played a major role in various aspects of American culture including literature, cinema, and theater. The Brooklyn accent has often been portrayed as the "typical New York accent" in American media, although this accent is supposedly fading out.
The Brooklyn Museum, opened in 1897, is New York City's second-largest public art museum. It has in its permanent collection more than 1.5 million objects, from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary art.
Brooklyn hosts the world-renowned Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and the second largest public art collection in the United States, housed in the Brooklyn Museum.
Neighborhoods
Along with gentrification, many of Brooklyn's neighborhoods are also becoming increasingly diverse, with an influx of immigrants integrating its neighborhoods. The borough also attracts people previously living in other cities in the United States. Of these, most come from Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, and Seattle.
Sports
Brooklyn's major professional sports teams are the NBA's Brooklyn Nets and the NHL's New York Islanders.
Brooklyn also has a storied sports history. It has been home to many famous sports figures such as Joe Paterno, Vince Lombardi, Mike Tyson, Joe Torre, and Vitas Gerulaitis. Basketball legend Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn though he grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Brooklyn's most famous historical team, the Brooklyn Dodgers, named for "trolley dodgers" played at Ebbets Field.[85] In 1947 Jackie Robinson was hired by the Dodgers as the first African-American player in Major League Baseball in the modern era. In 1955, the Dodgers, perennial National League pennant winners, won the only World Series for Brooklyn against their rival New York Yankees.
Brooklyn once had a National Football League team named the Brooklyn Lions in the 1920s, who played at Ebbets Field.

I like NYC but I prefer Toronto for some reasons. The only thing that Toronto is missing is the "Character" of the building. NYC has many characters !

Linda Fukuyu ...character is a big thing. I like Toronto too but it lacks grit, making it look almost unreal like a movie set. I lived there a bit and it was almost too clean(except for Lake Ontario near the city,lol.

This week, a couple of million of people were not able to send text messages from Saturday evening until Tuesday noon. And another couple of million could not stream on Netflix. That is getting normal with state owned Belgian telecom operator. Helpdesks were not available.

You need to somehow show that it is actually one of the biggest cities in the world. Scenes like this are almost exactly like me driving in Minneapolis.
@spencerhenry9674
@spencerhenry9674 9 ай бұрын
Lol thats exactly what this video shows. This isn''t downtown NY. The fact that it reminds you of downtown Minneapolis shows how large this city is in comparison. If you want a downtown NY video, watch one of his that shows Manhattan. This is Brooklyn, he doesnt need to try to make it look bigger than it is.

You got to drive slow man in ny. Motherfuckers are con artist and will try to shake you down if you even get a small dent on there shit. When i was living in jersey new york drivers were so frustrating to even be on the same road with, but when i drove in NYC i realized why they drive like that and its to avoid those said situations.

you couldn't pay me enough to even VISIT New York, let alone LIVE THERE. The buildings and people are all on top of each other. The summers and winters are horrific and the traffic seems to always be at a standstill. How do people there with cars even make it to work on time?!?! We have enough of that shit here in Miami with the Hispanic population increasing and trashing this great city. I'll pass...

That's what the SUBWAY is for, ever heard of it? As the saying goes, traffic is so bad in New York no one drives (it's a joke)...Anyway, if it's not your cup of tea no one cares. There are already 8 million residents in NY and many more tourists and it won't hurt to have one less. Plus, as a racist you would HATE the diversity more than anything.
