Downtown is beautiful and the majority of that city was beautiful at one time. The highway act in the 50's is what did it in like most citizens.

It’s definitely one of the better cities in America despite its flaws. Much better than the cities in the Midwest and south like Birmingham, Memphis, St. Louis, etc…

I bought all my clothes at Mr Mans on Branford Pl.Bought a suit for my cousin's wedding back in June of 67.Week later I picked it up taylor & staff there were great.A month later came the riots and sadly that was the last time I went to Mr Mans.

Yes, Newark, just like many other Cities in New Jersey are in need of some serious revitalization. Atlantic City was another booming city many years back.
