Downtown Salem has changed A LOT! More homeless people are invading. I felt really really bad for them... They don't deserve to be outside for the whole day. Yet, Nordstorm is gone, Chase Bank is not in downtown anymore, TJ Maxx is also leaving but relocating, two Starbucks is already dead, one new Starbucks opened a few years ago. A lot of businesses are disappearing and grand opening. Thanks for filming my hometown. You rock!

I spend one one month in Salem in 1989. Macys, JC Penney, Nordstrom. Also I went to Portland and Seattle by car. Good memories!!

You picked a nice day for the drive around town - but why did you keep going in circles when in the 20 minutes you could've gone past some really interesting buildings by just venturing a few more blocks east or south. Why not double back along different streets in stead of the same ones over and over. We saw that same Rite Aid and downtown mall area 4 times. Just a couple blocks away is a park and capitol, train station and other interesting parts of downtown Salem. Too bad most of the this 'film' was sitting at red lights and around and around the same blocks. I hope you come back and make another Salem downtown drive. I am new to the area and was hoping to get a route to take some friends along. Come back and spend your 20 minute drive not doubling back on the same streets around in a circle! But thanks for making the travel-drive film - great idea. Wonder if you are checking out the area first though to plan the route before you start filming or just kinda lost and wandering around.

A lot of movies have been filmed in Oregon, but not too many in Salem. However, one of the great classics One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was filmed there.
