I lived there for almost two years and I loved it!! Beautiful City!! You'd think people would be snob, but they're very open and amicable!! They say hi and chit chat you on the streets!! Is VERY easy to meet people and girls especially!!!

Amazing video, this entire video just showed my city and the area I grew up around, this was in the late '50s and Santa Monica was considered a retirement city, no need to lock the doors or worry about creeps, sorry I can"t say that now, great memories. Nice video. I remember my visit out here. Driving on the Pacific Coast Highway was awesome. I'm used to driving in NYC or Philly, I didn't have any issues getting around out here. "Nobody walks in LA".

@@AFT_05G Yeah Gta San Andreas was nowhere near real life LA but there were many technical limitations when it was released back in 2004. Don't get me wrong it was one of the best games in it's time and still is. GTA V is getting a remastered version this year for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 this year. I love the setting so much. Of course they had to scale down the city very much but I wish areas like Malibu, Santa Monica or Pacific Palisades would have been bigger. The map is awesome but instead of so many mountains they could have extented the city further north with Malibu for instance. But all in all I trust Rockstar Games. This studio is simply amazing

@@jutah I'm old enough to remember the old Pacific Ocean Park pier! However, by the time I grew up there the pier closed and began to fall apart for several years. Still, I was impressed with the pier's grand enterence, Neptune's Courtyard as a baby. Google it and marvel at it's old space age extravagance!! Oh, and parts of the 1980 movie Xanadu was also filled there (and in Venice Beach). Major Bonus Points!!!!

One hour of driving around downtown Santa Monica? Ten minutes was all I could take. Downtown SM is one continuous loop, unless your coloring outside the box, then, your driving into Brentwood or Malibu or Venice or Culver City.

Nice! It's certainly the type of place I have to experience for a few years. How would I go about getting a job there from Switzerland? I've been looking online but it seems tougher than ever before to make a move there. Somehow it seems I'm destined to keep moving though. I wanted to try it out for many years, I just never managed to do just that. Like even now, I would have enough money for a plane ticket, but that's about it lmao. There's no work here in Switzerland (at least for me) so I don't expect things to be any better if I had to move there but it does sound like a really big metropolitan region and there is definitely more opportunities.. but who knows, maybe it would be worse. The climate does seem nice and with such a big city, it would be a good way to have a fresh start in life; it's something I really need to do at the moment. As much as I am fond of Switzerland, something is not quite was it used to be here and all doors have closed so maybe it is time to move on.

Doesn't Switzerland provide the highest minimum income and standard of living. With a job, you are probably better off in Switzerland, and without a job, you are definitely better off in Switzerland 😂 than in the US... that's only in terms of numbers though and security and safety. (check out Skid row downtown LA) Obviously the US has way more to offer in variety on all levels, geography, culturally...
