The media personality you took to the main stage to meet stormzy must’ve been Martin Brundle then. What a class week of work that is Tom 👌

As a Tom and F1 fan, this is amazing! Very cool that you were allowed to film on the grounds. And sleeping in the back of the cab, wild haha. Even getting the F1 font to do all the graphics shows the attention to detail you put in to all the videos.

I could imagine everyone shouting for Max Verstappen and you're going "Is that Tom the taxi driver?!"
@GTLPTАй бұрын
A possible reason that Verstappen changed taxi was that he was worried that fans knew you were carrying him, so wanted to swap to taxi to avoid fans

I wasn't aware they needed private cabs but I guess so does that also mean staff like F1 photographer Michael Potts if so do say hello for me :) is a great contract and a break from regular shifts I guess. Who takes them from the track to their hotels though? or do you just bring them to an outside cab or limo? I would expect them to put up the cab drivers in hotels who are quite a distance from home :( tents I dunno I guess) These events have the occasional hiccup sure they will look at reports and make amendments to make it more easier for cabbies and patrons. I imagine after it was done there will be a meeting to discuss how it went. I have worked 2 similar events before and know how stressful they can be even if you aren't driving cabs like film festivals and music award shows. Well done Tom and Frank and team.

Would also love some challenge videos. Like How many cases can u fit in the cab with 4 passengers. How many boxes or people can fit in it and be safe to drive. Fastest way to load and then after unload a wheelchair. Maybe a challenge like you had with Tom Scott but again other cabbies maybe u need to get form a to b but with several stops in between let driver pick route order of pickups to see who is fastest cheapest also most efficient ie time fuel over money and comfort the story is man needs to go form a to b but needs to pick multi pick up drop off some with language known before start something to drop off like a letter or dry cleaning to pick up and then get to the end the destination in the most efficient time and cost. Maybe a top gear race taxi v tube get form a-b most efficient u v fellow KZbinr Geoff marshals. If you do efficient means not always strait point a-b but go other way will same money ie using pink oyster tap points or use bus or overground or network rail if better. make it more fun. Try see if you can get a job too or from Buckingham palace or Downing Street etc and if do show us if you go in via main entrance or a back entrance. Do more of your can I get via all of London boughs with out traffic lights and so on

Awesome! Call me nosy 🧐 but was that financially better then an average weekend working in london?)
@Bigaitch25 күн бұрын
Loved this video , it gave a really fascinating insight into what goes on bebind the scenes. However, I have a question for Tom , or anyone else who xan answer for that matter; How come it is not cabbies local to Silverstone that are used? I was of the opinion London cabbies could only pick up in the capital? I guess to anyone with greater knowledge the answer will be obvious, but I am an outsider.

Who hired the cabs and ur boss frank was he in charge of all cabs is there an operator or taxi operators team. Would love a behind the scenes of how it all works the operations logistics of it all not just the jobs as this amazing video was. Are they any other places where they use London back cabs but also with there actual drivers? Would love a video doing taxi only streets and that. Usual moves oddities like the green huts or the wrong way at the savoy any other things a taxi driver can do with normal road users can’t and don’t mean just driving, streets or turnings thinking have you any other rights or unusual things that cabbies can do. Also would love to see rough prices to see cost and also how times day your routing and other stuff effect the pricing and how you knowing London not only the knowledge of routes but the knowledge of where’s busy quite(to find jobs and faster journeys) where to avoid go as what planned in London any events closures road works etc as that side looks amazing. I love trains and tube and know there is lots of events for that I know there truck fest for lorries is there out for taxis if so u should go do a video for us and also to show ur self off to the fans

Did you get paid for everey job, like i town? or did F1 pay you a fixed price for the whole weekend?
@TheXshot28 күн бұрын
It's a fixed price, most likely negotiated beforehand based on multiple factors such as amount of work and time on call.
