Respect to a guy that starts the day with top notch coffee. Little more pressure on that tamp would be good. You are a true pro, Thanks for sharing your talent.

Kneel down, stinger in one hand wedge in the other , tack the bottom side while adjusting the wedge at the same time.. Light the rod on one try. Now that is some serious skill!!!! You just have to proud of the results..

Thank you for a great video. You make it very easy to follow and understand. I have a few questions: What brand and size of the stinger, and what size of the rod in your rod box line-up? Thank you again, Gus.

Thank you man!! I'm using a Tweco TwecoTong 200 AMP Amp Electrode Holder.. I've been using a 200 amp for years.. it's small and i like it.. it gets hot when you are hot passing on the line, or when you're constantly caping on the line, but otherwise works great on fabing.. On my rod-box? In pipeline all you need it's 1/8 5p+ then 4.0mm pipeliners then 5.0mm pipeliners on the first three boxes.. then on the other two boxes I have 3/32 7018 and 1/8 7018 just in case you have to repair any machinery..

Gus, my son is graduating this year and he’s thinking about going into welding, what school did you attend for welding and what advice would you give?
@gustavojr8417 ай бұрын
I didn't go to any school.. To be honest, I recommend him to start straight into being a welder helper.. I had helpers that broke out as a pipe welder in a year working with me.. as a helper, he will learn more things out here in the field than in welding school.. don't get me wrong, school is good, but where you learn the most is in the actual work..
@Normet26 ай бұрын
@@gustavojr841When I asked my welding friends what school I should go to they both said the same thing! School is good but if I work with them I will learn more and faster. So I am going to assist on my first job tomorrow!

Do they shoot X-ray on spools that have used fittings?
@gustavojr8417 ай бұрын
Yes, every time there's a new weld.. it has to be X-RAY.. It doesn't matter if you are using new or used fittings.. just make sure that the used fitting doesn't compromise you from doing a good weld..

I was watching you hang that stinger in your back pocket when I do that there's all kinds of shenanigans going on that thing will touch everything in the world is not supposed to
@gustavojr8417 ай бұрын
😄👍👍👍 At first, I used to arc everything man, but I just got so good on not to lol.. one or the other.. you stop putting that stinger behind your pocket or keep in mind that you have a dangerous stick that could arc the pipe.. There was one time that I arc the pipe in a test because I had the stinger in my rear pocket 🤦🏻♂️ I ended up fixing it behind the eyes of the inspector.. Just don't do it.. it's not safe 😄👍
