Thanks for sharing. I grew up in Cape Town and enjoyed the drive. A few comments for people unfamiliar with Cape Town. August 1st is mid-winter, but that day saw a beautiful blue sky, and at the time of the drive the temperature outside was around 60 F (15 Celsius). The wind was a light or gentle breeze at around 10 mph (16 km/h). The posted speed limits are in km/hour and they varied from 60 km/hour to 120 km/hour. The roads in Cape Town are excellent, well paved, with visible painted lines, and well signposted. I can't speak for the rest of the country. Don't be misled by the light traffic. The drive was taken on a Saturday morning which is lighter than normal anyway, but also South Africa was at a level 3 lockdown at the time. At rush hour(s) in the mornings and the evenings there is heavy traffic and stop-go conditions on, for example, the Black River Parkway.
