I am planning on taking a car ferry from Mersin to Northern Cyprus and was wondering can I cross into European Cyprus by car from north? I have a UK car and a French passport.

There are crossings on both sides for both cars and pedestrians. There are rules you have to follow before you cross on each side.

I first went there in 1959 with a bus load of fellow Signallers from Episkopi Garrison , then had a weeks leave the following May, staying in a Military Hotel, on Google Earth the building is still there .
