Imagine a roundabout with four points of entry and exit, at 90 degrees from each other. In Norway it has become common to signal an intention to make an exit to the left of the entry point (270 degrees) by putting on one's left turn signals before entering the roundabout. This gives a warning to a vehicle entering the roundabout from the opposite direction (180 degrees). In summary: A right signal before entering indicates an exit at 90 degrees. No signal indicates an exit at 180 degrees, a left signal indicates an exit at 270 degrees.

I have seen this in Brazil, too. There are avenues with two lanes per direction but at the intersections, instead of lights there are small circles marked as roundabouts. This means in fact that cars turning left have right of way over oncoming traffic, which reduces the risk of crashes on the left lane. On the other hand, this slows down traffic a bit in general because you have to give way all the time if you go straight. But the turning left signal in roundabouts only works for small roundabouts where you can see all cars and indicators. For bigger roundabouts where you cannot see the other entry points one has to stick to concept to only look left when entering.

The idea of these roundabouts is that you use the outer lane only to exit, so in theory it should be safe to enter and merge quickly to the inner lane. However, especially in heavy traffic I think this concept will hardly work because most drivers will just stay in the outer lane. Some roundabouts are also designed in a way that for major exits there is one "must leave roundabout" lane and one proceeding and exiting in one of the other exits.

At least he is giving emphasis on the way of right inside the roundabout of pedestrians and cyclists. Many drivers forget about driving school (or their license is so old that they learnt different rules back then). Also it is good that he shows that cyclists can come from the right LEGALLY (small kids on bikes with accompanying person, or marked two-way bike lane).
