I love that Jenn is adventurous with her food. Otherwise, we’d just see Tim eating burgers all day. 😂 Ok, but seriously, who goes to Rainbow Drive-in and gets a burger?! It’s like going to Tokyo/France/China and getting…well, a burger. Taste the local foods! ❤

Looks like a great time, that beach with the surfers looked amazing. Tim, a cheese burger at the Hawaiian joint? Jenn's chicken looked amazing, your burger looked sad. I know burgers are your thing, but you should have branched out and gotten a loco moco instead! If I ever get to Hawaii, it'll be at least a 2 week adventure. So much to see and do.

I hope you were able to go back to Makapu'u, the highest lookout is absolutely breathtaking. Another great lookout is at Nu'uanu Pali on the windward side of the island. Also, next time you're in Hawaii, you absolutely must go to Zippy's. My dad was born and raised in Honolulu and Zippy's has been around forever. Similar plate lunch style to Rainbow Drive-In, but the food is just incredible. I'm so glad y'all have been able to explore more of the island on this trip!

I live on Oahu at the base of Koko Head where you stopped at the lookout. I didn't know about the bus tour at Kualoa Ranch. That looked great. There is another place just across the highway from there called the macadamia nut farm where they also have really old smaller busses and they take you around their grounds. They have some movie sets also down by the ocean, a boat ride into an old fish pond, a fun show that demonstrates how to open coconuts and make fire and some clowning around. They also go through their gardens to see local plants and give you samples of the fruits and flowers and nuts and coffee. I always took my visiting friends there becuase it was only $15. They shut down for covid though, and I'm not sure if they ever reopened. Just wanted to mention also that the Makapuu trail (the lighthouse trail you found) is an easy hike and has recently been paved. There is about twice as much as you could see from the parking lot. The views are incredible up there and we do see whales and other islands from up there. We used to walk our dog up there and occasionally ran into Dog Chapman's family walking their dogs up there too. Thanks for the great blog!

Makena beach is very deceiving. We stumbled upon it and while swimming our friend got pulled under with the under tow and collapsed his lung, knocked out and aspirated all of his teeth and spent a month in the hospital recovering. The Nurses and doctors and anyone we talked to after said they they wish there were signs warning tourists Joe dangerous it actually is as it looks so serene. Scary stuff but a gorgeous beach!

Plus that looked like way too many people trying to surf the one wave at once and people just dropping in while that one surfer was still riding the one wave. No one paddling in seemed to be watching what anyone was doing. Very common of course on tourists beaches and it gets way crazier than this but ya, I'm sure the ER constantly has horror stories like this from tourists who have no idea.
@rebeccabeck9505 Жыл бұрын
In the shot of cocohead lookout not sure if you could see the straight line up the hill side leading to the top of the mountain. That is a hikeable staircase that has 1000 "steps" (giant railroad ties 4 feet apart) to the top. The view from the top is beautiful. You should add it to your working out bucket list for your next trip. It kicked my butt.

Jenn - Every time you wear that shirt, I WANT it!!! I LOVE Sorcerer Mickey!! Your Eggs Benedict looked SO good, Tim - I recently had them after not having them for a LONG time, and they were SO yummy - I get the Hollandaise on the side though, so I can just dip in there, every once in awhile, don't like too much sauce. Yeah - your eggs were definitely WAY overcooked. :( That Macadamia waffle also looked REALLY good, and I'm not a big waffle or pancakes person. Coconut syrup? YUMMMMMM!!!! Your chicken lunch looked really good, Jenn. That drive was GORGEOUS, thank you SO much for taking us along. The guitar player at Off the Hook had SUCH a nice voice! I have to watch this again because the thumbnail pics on my phone look like Le'ahi but I didn't see that you were in that area. It also looks like Jackson is propped up Weekend at Bernie's style for that picture. Yeah, I should just watch again. PS - I stayed at a resort on Waikiki closer to the marina and it was so fun to watch the surfers swim out at sunrise and cluster around the only wave action all day (with smooth glassy water everywhere else) then swim back in at sunset.

Can’t believe you guys are still tippy toe’ around Jackson’s afternoon naps, our 1st child was born about 10 days after Jackson and she stopped napping a full year ago, there’s no need for it, you are just pushing it on him. Our daughter wakes between 6:30 & 7:30 depending on the days activities and doesn’t sleep till 7:30 / 8pm. No need to nap at all plus you have home help so again no need. What does lynne (sp) do when he’s sleeping,, have her lunch I guess.
