My old main route, after loading in Ålesund. My starting point was at the Statoil station you see to the left in the very beginning of the film. The first truck was a Mercedes 1932 from 1976 with a massive naturally aspirated V10 engine. It was later replaced with a 1987 2244 with the first generation EPS gearbox, which would lock up every so often. It was very funny standing in the middle of a roundabout having to do the two minute reset sequence of the gearbox. There is only one of the nasty railway viaducts left now. The one at Skiri. I just wonder when they will be able to eliminate that one. Before they built the new piece of road between Sogge (where you can divert to 63 for Trollstigen/Geiranger) and Horgheimseidet, (where the weighing station is situated) there used to be two similar viaducts left along the old road. The one just below Horgheimseidet was a bit nasty, since it is located in a quite steep gradient, so you needed to carry speed up, especially in the winter, and just hope that you didn't meet a sliding truck coming downward at the other side of the viaduct. They are still there, if you drive the old road. Lucky with the weather. Rain is more the rule than the exception in the lower part of Romsdalen. Passing Verma, it usually brightens up and Lesja is usually dry.

8:35 actually someone pulling over to let others pass, don't see that often. I wish that was more common in this country with the lack of passing lanes on our national roads.
