Amazingly Restored, really fantastic effort to restore. that time Japanese car, it came in AC version as DLX verson. In fact, Japan car had auto transmission that time and power steering, even had dolby music system. but Its 1983 Originally Suzuki SS80 1st Gen AlTO directly (completely pack piece) from Japan by Maruti Suzuki and 1st launched in India in 1984, It has a Maruti 800 Badge on front grill. I have the same 1984 ss80 (also used to call Maruti800 Japanese model or dinky like in maharshtra state or even fronty in some states like in gujrat ). I have same 1984 japanese model

I still have this car Suzuki SS80. planning to modify the whole car. Your information is wrong about-- SS80 first Maruti 800 (type1) was launched in 1983 not 1986. This model was discontinued in1986. It was 38 bhp ( carburettor) not 36 bhp. Maruti 800 (type2) was launched in 1986 With same engine 38 bhp (carburettor) but it had different gear ratios. The 45 bhp (mpfi) version was 5 speed transmission with Maruti alto 800 engine but it was discontinued.
