We just realised one critical issue: when u apply for 2wheeler learner's license and subsequently pay up for final test, please ensure you either opt for geared 2wheeler, or ungeared 2 wheeler. If for example u apply for geared 2wheeler, and u take your gearless 2wheeler for the test, the inspector can refuse you your test. You have to reapply again. This is the feedback we got from those who went for the test. This does not apply to 4 wheelers, we presume!

The world is moving towards 'lane-discipline' system while India is only upgrading it's chaotic traffic with automation. This may be a proud moment for Indians, but no driving authority in any developed country exchanges their DLs with the substandard Indian DLs because of this backwardness. Indians have to do additional testing and pay additional fee to exchange to foreign DLs, something which many countries with better road systems don't pay.

This is good. In comparison to most countries around the world, the biggest drawback of our tests is that we dont test in real life scenarios. Meaning.. traffic, signals, reverse bay park, parallel park, driving as a normal driver as opposed to slow, driving at highway speeds (above 80 km/h), hazard perception. In the UK the test is for 40 whole minutes including knowledge test on your car mechanics. There is a separate 50 question multiple choice as well as 14 question hazard perception theory test a few months before the practical. Essentially you truly need to know driving to get a license

True mate. I am in the UK and while I was an experienced avid driver back in Noida, I had to take 12 driving lessons to pass in watford with 4 minors. Driving in the UK is so different than India. You have to be keen observer, fast anticipation, 6 point mirror checks, signals, road signs, roundabout junctions, emergency stops, 9 maneuvers and so on. Also as you said practical tests are done on real testing routes amid the regular traffic.

The test is ment to be to make sure your safe on the road not to see if you can do a figure of 8

Nowhere in the test, the candidate's knowledge on road signs, entry and exit from a junction or roundabouts, when to yield, etc are tested. A person who pass this test means her or she has good control and judgement of the vehicle, but doesn't mean they know road etiquettes. To put it in perspective, an auto/taxi driver who breaks all the rules on road can easily pass this test. If more components are not added, this test wouldn't result in better drivers on road.

These rules are quite relaxed. While I gave my test, there was no provision of forwarding your car or hitting the curb or for the matter any mistake. I still got my license after successfully passing the test! I promise it was the most exciting day of my life!! Good luck to all those trying for their license!!!✨

I think Indians are the best drivers because there are 100 types of vehicles not like foreign only CARS on the roads and the roads are not well people honking too much and in streets it's the toughest thing to drive in India's Streets for an outsider .

Something seriously wrong with ppl in the comments section. We have to be negative about everything. It's a good step if implemented properly. I got my licence sitting at home without even a learners license , around 30 years back.

Still incomplete. The examiner should sit inside the car and make the applicant drive for at least 4-5kms in real scenario with camera capturing the entire session.

I ask all the RTO guys give this test and clear it in 1 go.... ? Bolana easy hai... karne jana ho tho, pata lagtha hai... tell me when you drive on Delhi roads, do we check how many sec... stuck in traffic jam or how many sec you will park your car in khan market or Rajori market or did you ever park so long in reverse...... everybody should have a try ride on the track before the test to make them aware... at the end we all drive on roads not on track.........!
@_knight-king10 ай бұрын
Yes I also want them to do that !! Those mfs failed me in the 4-wheeler test just for hitting kerb 1 time in the first reverse "S" stage (where the maximum of 3 hits are allowed) and they failed me in the 2-wheeler test for not giving the correct indicator (where it is not required at all) !! Driving test track- ROHINI SECTOR-28 oh and they didn't mention anything on the report and just wrote "failed" there !!

Why aren‘t the tests on the road? This test seems rather silly to me. My favourite rite is the the „Overtaking“ part.

Everybody slowly or quickly or minor mistekenly will get driving or riding skills but In our country nobody knows traffic rules and simple cautious manners to drive or ride.This DL Test must also educate and test about traffic rules and safety.It only decrease accidents.

The video is very good and educating, Issue is by giving time line.... this is the actual flow ... such tests led yo make a driver impatient and being impatient lead to accidents... My thought!!!! One way regulation/rule says not to exceed maximum speed and drive slow in a real time.
@RaviKumar-oe7mx4 жыл бұрын
There’s a even more advance driving test circuit in Ahemdabad and was commissioned when Modi was the CM of Gujrat. 12” roll back is too much of a distance on take off from a stop-go inclined slope.
