The mk5 is just a great car, I've got A DSG GTI, and I just can't fault it, longest car I've owned by far. Paid £3200 for it, and everytime I drive it I love it more.

A fantastic car, hats off to Dan for a lovely car. I have a 5 door Mk 4 R32 in DBP and have daily driven it in the past and they are brilliant engines. Had mine 12 years and it’s not going anywhere

I'm wanting one but it's so low in mpg from what I've seen, what is a real world mpg you are getting may I ask?

@@Garyskinner2422. Compared to an S4 Audi I had and a focus st3 2.5 it’s brilliant Gary 😂😂 Mid to high 20s on a run, sometimes more, low teens when you put your foot down. One piece of advice on these type of cars is keep on top of the maintenance and deal with things before they break. They are expensive if they go wrong and parts are becoming hard to find on mk 4 platforms

@@lindsaycooper4010 how often do you do oil changes and other maintenance? I think from factory they used to say every 10-15k miles? Also how are your timing chains

If Dan fancies switching it up a little, i currently have a set of Milltek manifolds and Milltek sports cats, which would mate up nicely to his new exhaust if he goes ahead!! Definitely improves responsiveness 👌

Sad that a four door version of the MK4 R32 was never offered in the states. I prefer two door with hatch and a manual but at least give US some option like the European version.

Really want one, just want to get rid of the itch. If anyone selling a cheap R32 black or blue 5dr, DSG or Manual, mileage isn't an issue as long as it's mechanically sound. Let me know.

Tried an r32 recently and it was totally unimpressive. Far too heavy and slow. You want the gti with a few tweeks, much more exciting drive...
