Double speed and you are on an Autobahn. That way I only had to stop once for a coffee, a bag of crisps and a piddle. Though the wife said I shoukd have used the Service facility not the side of the couch.

That is national speed limit mate 70 miles per hour , if you want to exceed the limit which is against the law well you can overtake on the right

@@BritongBisdak I am well aware of the speed limit but it is illegal to drive the entire journey in the middle or 4th lane. Lets hope that the traffic police don t watch this video as you could have caused an accident driving that way.

@@aviationAndy Unless the traffic was very busy and he caused any issue (e.g. too slow), the police never deal with that. In fact it happens so rarely that it was in the local news when it happened, once, so very unlikely the police will care about enforcing this rule. The traffic was light, no issue in practice.

@@Morpho32 When driving on a UK motorway you have got to keep left whenever possible and NOT just drive in whatever lane you feel comfortable in. I recently drove to South Yorkshire via the M25 & M1 and witnessed several middle lane drivers causing traffic to bunch up in order not to undertake.

@@aviationAndy A van driver is thought to be the first British motorist to be convicted of "lane hogging" after refusing to move from the middle lane on a motorway. The Huddersfield Examiner reports that the driver of a Citroen Berlingo van was handed a £940 court bill and five points on his licence after driving at 60 miles-per-hour down the middle lane of the M62 when the inside lane was available. According to the newspaper, six drivers had to brake and then overtake after being blocked by the van in August last year. New £100 on-the-spot fines were introduced in August 2013 to deal with the issue of middle-lane hogging. The driver failed to appear in court but was handed the penalty in the form of a £500 fine, £400 costs and a £40 victim surcharge. West Yorkshire Police's Road Policing Unit said lane hogging "can lead to dangerous situations where other drivers 'tailgate' the vehicle in front to ry and get the lane hogger to move over".
