Man that is nuts how much a lot of that has changed. The area near the Sid Snyder intersection is almost unrecognizable, aside from the curve in the road. There’s like nothing but forest between the go kart track and Marsh’s. The lighthouse realty house back then looked like a dump. And there’s a Chevron where Scoopers is. The only thing that’s the same is Cottage Bakery!

Scooper's was a Chevron gas station and towing business called Gas 'N Grub into the late 90's to early 2000's. The were little cottage apartments around it on boulevard and 1st North with a little bar on the corner of 1st N. and 103. The pump island was still there until after 2015. They sold fresh kettle corn and popcorn out of it all summer. In the early 90's, there was a tow truck driver that worked there that used to get so pissed because we would pull people out that were stuck on the beach for less than he charged. That's why it became an ordnance or law (not sure which one) that you couldn't charge folks to pull them off the beach when they were stuck. Good times.

I recognize the forest well you mentioned between the go karts and Marsh’s because we lived in the apartments that were there, a little to left of the trees. (Now called the Boardwalk Cottages). And right before the Cottage Bakery (but on the left hand side of the street) was Stormin’ Normans arcade - I used to practically live in there during ‘82-‘84. Now the Arcade is on the other side of the street.

I moved there a little over a year later! Well, to Ocean Park. I see the elementary school (our mascot was the unicorn while I was there). Looks like they were just building BJ Squidley's. I see the field where they had the festivals....and the big tree in the corner next to the space my great grandpa always had during the festivals. SO many things I remember! Like no McDonald's, the fun rides and Dodge City and Gas n Grub (Scoopers)

My mom worked at BJ Squidley's. About 5 years after this we lived there in Ocean park. 1 Block from the beach in a nice house that was cheap and no problem to get. Man have things changed, All the neighborhood kids and dogs would hang out at the general store or the beach. We would just let the dogs out and they would go where they wanted. Us kids would see them gathered with other peoples dogs at the general store two blocks away.

I believe, but could be wrong, that the mile marker numbers started at the light in Ilwaco back then. Not sure where they start now though or when it changed, if it did change. 🤷

SR 103 starts at the mobile station in Seaview and runs to Ocean Park then east on bay avenue to Sandridge. Turns north & ends at Ledbetter state Park

I've noticed as well that a lot of the mile numbers don't match the present day. I would presume this is due to changes with the highway over the years.

Update: the mile marker signs are in the same places now as they were back then in 1982. In the video, the 2 mile marker is right at 13th north (there's no little green sign there now but it's still the 2 mile point past the blinking light in seaview where the mile markers start at 0, 10st/Sid Snyder is mm 1) and the 3 mile marker is right after the golf course like it is today. What I think is really cool is the Corral is open in this video. My mom went to Chico's after her homecoming so I knew it was already there in '82, but I didn't realize the Corral has been around for over forty years!!
