Driving On WA SR-538 East/West In 1983 (Mount Vernon)

Back in 1983, The Washington State Department of Transportation drove East/West on SR-538 and recorded video to document the highway. This was part of a project that photographed/videotaped the states highways every couple of years. This video now resides at The Washington State Archives who were kind enough to share it.

Boy!!!!… how things have changed so much in the last 41 years. I see the taco time restaurant is still in the same place and the big scoop ice cream place is still there. I live in Anacortes

Yeah when you consider cost of living at the time, $1.47 was absurdly expensive.
