There's a feature in NFS High Stakes where you can drive police cars not listed in the main car roster. This is because during the pursuit you can swap cars with the AI police cars (just like the shift mechanic in Driver SF) and you can drive the Chevrolet Caprice or the Ford Crown Victoria

In the Ps1 version you choose the police cars depending on the track. When the track is located in Europe, you can choose between BMW M5, Porsche 911 Turbo or Lamborghini Diablo SV. If it's in North America, you can choose between Chevrolet Caprice, Corvette C5 or the Diablo. And your enemy's cars depend on which you choose.

The "playable" cop cars in NFS Undercover are meant for the Cops and Robbers gamemode, where they are maxed out reskins of playable cars: Civic Cruiser performs like a Porsche Cayman S (but its first car_tuning field mentions Nissan Skyline GT-R R34) State Cruiser is a Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560, but has another "Progressive Special Investigations Unit" you can unlock with the code *qfmytyda* ... That one is much like a maxed out Ford Mustang GT, which is a Tier 3 car... and thus not as good. Super State Cruiser is a Bugatti Veyron 16.4... for some reason. And the SUV unit... is a maxed out Ford Escort Cosworth, or a Ford Focus ST if you somehow manage to buy its base version.

I'd say 2010 normal is still better than the re-release. The damage model was significantly downgraded in the re-release. The graphics 'upgrade' was just adjusting the brightness a bit. It's an overall downgrade that was made for the sole purpose of milking nostalgia and making money. Owners of the original don't even get a discount.
