You talking about "reducing node limit" and few seconds after that you use water pipes which are honestly useless when it comes to detailing. There is a mod called "remove need for pipes" which makes the whole city connected to water pipes without the need to actually build them, it can save you a lot of nodes for future builds :D

Dude, there are limits in the game which are worth spending on something else, just like the node limit which you can fill with roads, fence networks, paths, terraforming network etc not with something that isn't even visible lmao
