Rivets do weigh less than bolts... do you have a quick way to remove them that doesn't deform or destroy the panels?

Yes! To remove them, I use a Dremel tool with a grinding blade to remove the formed head, then use a spring loaded center punch to make a divet where the body of the rivet goes through, then drill out with an appropriate size drill bit. If you're careful with the rotary tool (Dremel), you won't damage the panel.

Nice, very informative. It's kinda wild when your scale model is big enough that the rivet details are actually rivets too
