Pass mine on the 17th. It's my 1st try also with 10hr. driving exp... Yes just stay calm, pay attention and control your speed. If you are worried about parallel, reverse, or regular parking. I suggest use a hatchback.

August 7th, 2023: Yuppp, I retook the driving exam for the second time the day this video was posted and I ended up passing!! I previously took it on June 5th of this year and failed at another DMV (Yup, California here) , I think I let my nerves get to me and drove too quickly and dangerously into the middle left lane turn on a crowded street. This time however, I felt a lot more prepared when taking the exam. I had an extra 2 months to practice and put myself to work to make sure I really know what I am doing during the exam. Hell, I only practiced the DMV route ONCE with my dad the night before i took the exam (Don't recommend doing it so late... get more familiar with the roads than me) My best advice is to definitely not feel nervous. The more confident and comfortable you are at the moment despite your months of training, the more successful you will be. My advice is to always make sure to do your SMOG check (signal, mirror, over the head, go when safe), know your right of way, be aware of street signs, scan ahead, and make your over the head checks and mirror checks obvious during the exam. (Also check left right left) All in all, I feel like I did get a little lucky since my instructor was so kind and fair to me. She also gave me some amazing advice at the end of it all which I will remember for future driving sessions. The roads were also quite wide and not as empty this time around too so pick your DMV wisely I'd say. You guys can do it, I believe in y'all. It's really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be if you're CONFIDENT goodluck to everyone!!!!

This remembers me of my first auto exam, I failed in a few minutes because the examinating police officer was terrible, at the first engine stall he yelled at me "Turn on the engine!" and the story continued until I stalled the 5th time, he told me the exam was over and I was trully panicated because of him! I took the driving test in Illinois today and I was extremely nervous to the point where I almost left the dmv. I knew I was already a good driver but sitting in the dmv waiting was making me more nervous. But as soon as I got into the car my nerves were completely gone and it just felt like a normal drive with the examiner telling where to turn, etc. if anyone feels nervous for their test, that’s normal and I can bet as soon as you step into the drivers seat your nerves will disappear! Especially if you know your already a good driver. With that being said the Illinois driving test is extremely easy and practically a joke to most place’s because you don’t do any difficult maneuvers only really uphill and downhill parking and maybe a 3-point turn depending but most of the time not. Anyways don’t feel nervous and just breathe, what gave me the best motivation was thinking of where I could go as soon as I got my license. Good luck to whoever is about to take the test!

No. On road tests, you must follow all posted speed limits. You cannot exceed the posted speed limit by any amount. The 5-10 mph over the speed limit rule is typically for the far left lane on freeways, but again, that does not apply during a road test.

Overall, I think the instructor was fair blended with being slightly assertive, aggressive, and impatient. He has a friendly tone, but I dont think he had to be technical when she drove over 3 mph the speed limit, which wasnt a big deal. Despite her language barrier, she can drive and did a good job following directions because it was a lot she had to do on the road. She deserved to pass her test because it was as if she took 2 different road test in the same day. I like the examiner, but he has to work on being a tad more patient, but get why he acted the way he did. Overall, he was somewhat tough around the edges, but there have been way more difficult examiners. God Bless.

I just want to thank this channel so much, I’ve been binge watching your videos every time I could, and also practicing on the road. I took my road test today in Winnetka, CA at 9AM. I was the first one! and I PASSED on my first try. Only got docked one point for not stopping behind a limit line. I was a nervous wreck! The instructor saw that but he was very understanding. I’m so nervous for mine. I haven’t even taken the written test yet (I am in April) which I have no problem with because I’m pretty good at studying and testing. Please I need your opinion: a friend of mine failed her driving test due to an emergency vehicle that was approaching from the other direction of the road, but neither sirens were on, nor flashing lights, nor driving fast like in an emergency, the ambulance was just passing by normally; my friend just reduced the speed and turned right but didn't stop completely and she failed the test because of this. What's your opinion? Even with no sirens/flash lights on must pull over and stop completely?

That’s so strange, if there was no indication of the emergency vehicle being in the middle of service, there is no need to slow down or change lanes, or stop. If it’s just casually passing by, it’ll be as any other vehicle. Otherwise you’d create a hazard on a road by slowing down for no reason. I think that might be the reason for the fail, along with failure to follow the instructions (the instructor probably didn’t instruct to move the lanes at that time).

taking my 2nd shot at the test tomorrow, it’s the same day my permit expires so i’m really hoping i pass 🙏😭 also, just to be sure, it’s allowed to take a right turn on a red light as long as there isn’t any oncoming traffic, right??

Yes. If the traffic sign doesn’t say DONT TURN ON RED, then you can always make the turn once it’s safe to do so. Good luck !!!

If you are nervous about taking the turn just wait for the light to turn green better safe than sorry

It depends on the state. In my state, NY, you can’t turn on red.

At least she passed her exam. I know the examiner could have been more patient with her especially at the end, but I guess he didnt want her to hold up traffic when she was parking. I understand both the student and examiner where the driver is trying her best, but the examiner wants her to keep it moving. This reminded me of the examiner from 2 years ago where he told the lady if she made any mistakes on the examin she will fail. I know it can be annoying if the examiner doesnt understand the moves you are trying to do on the road especially if you are trying your best to be safe. Overall, driving maybe difficult but it is possible, which is faith. Please dont make driving difficult and impossible, which is when the fear and doubt kick in. God Bless.

Hey guys don't be so nervous or over think about your road test it's nothing really if you had enough practice then you got this, just passed mine last month my examiner was just the sweetest so that was a Biggie for my road test, and don't forget to watch all kinds of YT videos about all kinds of driving that is what I did, good luck lovely people you can do it❤❤❤
