Driving The Bobbed M923 5 Ton To Camarata's Camp - VLOG

Was getting ready to sell the bobbed 5 ton so figured I'd do one last long trip in it. Headed up to @AndrewCamarata's to help him get a shipping container up to his camp. This M923 got an unbelievable 13mpg on this trip cruising around 62mph. Definitely beats ya up a little though! This video is just a few clips from the day. Before the parade we had a 5 ton wrecker blow the muffler off It was a convoy of a half track ant two 5 tons 1 newer auto cummins tractor pulling cannon I think it got a quick coffee can bailing wire fix 👍

Unfortunately I already sold it. I threw it on marketplace and it's old within a week for 11,500. Was a fun truck to own for 2 months but unfortunately I have to limit how many toys I have until I get a bigger property one day. On to the next one. Lol. Was just looking at a 1961 Mack b61 today I might buy

To be honest the main thing I didn't like about the five ton was that it was automatic. And it didn't seem like a worthwhile investment to convert it since that probably would have lowered its value since most people prefer automatic

I’m actually glad you sold it, my wife would kill me if I drove out to the east coast to bring back a bobbed 5 ton anyway! I’m in the same boat as you with the too many toys thing 😂😂

Well that explains why I can’t find any more of your videos about this M923. I have to say I absofreakin’lutely enjoyed your videos about this truck. It brought back a lot of memories from my days as a Vehicle Recovery Mechanic in the Marines back in the 80’s and 90’s. The grease gun was triggering.😉😂 I actually preferred the automatics. I ended up driving an 800 series manual trans through Kuwait during the ground war in Desert Storm and hated it. The guys in the back of my truck hated it (me) too, but’s that’s because I was a better mechanic than I was an operator. (And I was a pretty crappy mechanic)😂 Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I have lived vicariously through those videos.
