I read a Japanese manga titled Kobo Chan (volume 6 if I'm not mistaken) about a grandpa doing that when he's too angry to his grandson (named Kobo). The manga was written in early 80s, so the grandpa put his angry face photo in an antique plate display that Kobo broke (which is why he's angry in the first place). I laughed so hard reading that, golden gentle comedy. 😄❤

That story about the spider in the car gave me a PTSD flashback. Once, many years ago, I'm staying at a hotel in Davenport Iowa in the late summer. I open the blinds (I'm on the top floor), look out the window, and then see a nest of about several dozen of the biggest spiders I've ever seen just chillin' outside the window. Didn't know what species they were, but seeing that many in a convention together was enough for me to change rooms, after I closed the blinds...

Unless you're trying to say before the invention of the internet and its widespread availability in homes...all parents with children failed miserably at being involved? My parents failed miserably? Even with all the silly papers that are sent home to remind you of everything from your children's teachers to what to bring on the field trip? Guess my mother failed at being involved since there was no "Parent Portal" even as she was signing up to be one of the chaperones on the field trip. Guess my dad failed as an involved parent even as he showed up to school meetings for my brother (who was a hellion.) Yeah Parent Portal is the ONLY thing that makes you an "involved" parent. Pfft.

My cousin died at 52 from a fall. She had surgery for her knee cap and caught an infection at the hospital that killed her. Hospitals have many lethal infections.

My Boss' father went in for back surgery. They said he would feel better after. It went wrong and he was stuck in a bed. While there he either an infection or blood clot and had to remove his leg above the knee. Then he got a Covvee jab, need like heart surgery and died. As the Hospitals conveniently say, "Old people die!?!" My grandma had supervised care by her daughter...my Mom, for almost 10 years. My Mom realized and always had to let the staff know what to give her and what not. A new head Nurse/Doc at the home came in, argued with my Mom he knew best and my gma was shortly hospitalized afterwards. Something like a stroke. She died on Xmas, cause of death was dehydration. "Old people die!?!"

The "no school in the future" statement was made by Stephen Hawking in 1995 (if I'm not mistaken). I read a kinda similar angry photo story in a Japanese manga titled Kobo Chan written in the 80s (but of course the photo was put in an antique plate display, not through a smartphone). Comedies are repeated in varied stories most of the time, but the comedians can own it with their unique techniques. 😄
