@@krisb2038 Hi Kris, I appreciate the concern, and I share the same. A few others have also mentioned it. Rest assured: Looking out the side windows provide a much better visibility than you're able to see from the gopro pointed at the windshield. I do drive with great attention and would never drive in a manner that would potentially endanger other road participants (or myself for that sake). Meaning, whenever I would cut into the other lane, I would always be 100% sure that there was no risk of oncoming traffic - watching the roads continuesly out the windows going down.Thank you for watching though, and commenting, and loving the video - Appreciate it ;-) Cheers

Beautiful scenery. I have zero issue with the overtakes as long as they were indicated and clear of the other drivers being passed with clear sightlines for oncoming traffic which they looked like in the video. I have always been of the mindset that speed is an asset in passing regardless of the speed limits posted as it reduces time exposed to oncoming traffic and needing to cut back in front of the vehicle being passed. The quicker the better. The car seems amazing as are the views and I really liked the music type and level in the video. Please share more in the future.
@MisterFench10 күн бұрын
Thank you my friend, it seems we are in agreement with each other regarding passing other vehicles. 🙏 And yes, I of course made sure that there was a clear line of sight for any potential oncoming traffic, which is why I waited a few minutes until I made the moves, on both cars. Luckily these roads provide great visibility coming from the top, driving down - the first pass was easily done just by going the speed limit and entering the corner a bit faster than he would do. The other drive already seemed to have a problem with me as I was approaching, as he turned into the other lane every corner, seemingly to stop me from overtaking him, for whatever reason. Oh well, I guess we can't make friends with everyone 🙏🙂

@JensKubieziel10 күн бұрын
You can look at the overtaking process in different ways. Firstly, you could ask yourself whether it was objectively dangerous. From what you can see in the video, you can see 250--300 meters away. Then comes the next bend. If a car comes from the other direction, can you both brake in time? The stopping distance, the sum of braking and reaction distance, is about 100 m for you. If we assume the same for the other vehicle, you could both brake in time and there would still be about 50 m of space between you. From that point of view, it was probably not dangerous. The other person is driving very carefully in the scenes in the video and may have a different perception of risk. This means that they may have thought that your overtaking was risky and therefore honked their horn. Before that, the vehicle kept cutting the corner. It is also possible that they did not want to let you pass and were expressing their anger by honking. Ultimately, there is no point in worrying about it. It's better to enjoy the wonderful view.
@MisterFench10 күн бұрын
Hey Jens, I appreciate you taking the time to write your input in such detail. Firstly, I just want to say, that if I had only been able to view 250-300 meters ahead, then I probably wouldn't have made the pass there. I really did wait until the most suitable places to pass, where I could see way ahead of the road. While difficult to see in the video, looking out of the side windows, going down this pass, it was possible to see the road(s) ahead of the 250-300 metres which are visible in the video. The main reason I accelerated much harder in the second pass, was that I kind of knew this guy didn't want me to pass him. It was clear by his swerving into both lanes going through corners. If you look at the first pass I did, I didn't even speed, I just carefully cruised by at 70 kph, out-braking him in the corner. I would have done the same for the second car, but I think it was clear that he didn't want someone in a 'sporty' looking car, overtake him in his big truck. That was my impression at least. I appreciate you sharing your view, and it's also very possible you are right that he simply thought the pass was too risky. You are right about the view too ;-) Cheers! Thank you for watching! 🙏

Much appreciated! I just did this trip a few weeks ago, it was the last day the Grossglockner was opened, so I just made it in time 🙂 St. Moritz/Zermatt is on my list too. Beautiful places as well and the road down there just as good. 50kWh means a lot of charging stops, but totally doable. If it's an LFP battery you can also go from 100-0% without concern of damaging the batteries, so effectively it means a battery probably similar to someone driving 80-20% with a 75kWh. Great trip! Thank you! 🙏 Personally I have no problem at all with sitting in this car for 12+ hours, which I did during this trip - multiple days in a row. In fact, I didn't notice any significant difference in comfort, when I drove 2 hours in the LR and then immediately hopped back into this car for 2 hours afterwards. I did feel the wheels being bigger/wider, but comfort wise, no I really can't say there's a big difference (that is, in my experience, for my buttocks 🙂).

Amazing videos! I subscribed last night. Would love to know how you installed that knob, looks hella cool. Does it void your car warranty tho?
@MisterFench10 күн бұрын
Hey there! Much appreciated to hear :-) The knob is very easy to install, took me about 10-15 minutes in total. As per Enhance regarding warranty: According to the official Tesla Vehicle Limited Warranty document, the warranty of the vehicle as a whole is not voided when installing 3rd party accessories. Only if there is an issue with a specific part of the vehicle (broken part or something not working as expected), proved to be caused directly or indirectly by the 3rd party accessory, this part has a limited warranty and Tesla might charge you for replacing it or diagnosing the car. For now, Tesla is OK with 3rd party accessories and doesn't state anywhere that the warranty of the vehicle is voided entirely because the 3rd part accessory was installed. We have clients that went to Tesla Service with the buttons and just removed the OBD Commander and placed it on the passenger seat without any issues or warrant limitation as a result. We always recommend removing everything from the car (making it stock again) prior going to Tesla service in order to avoid all possible issues with the staff and/or wrong interpretations of the global Tesla policy.

@Csirkefoga this makes perfect sense! Yes, he was swirving into lanes when taking the corners, otherwise I would have passed him sooner. Had to wait for a straight line first and then of course he also accelerated himself, even if it was probably clear I was going to, or wanted to pass. 🙏

Great video. I’ve had my MY LR Dual Motor a couple of years now and have often wondered whether to take it from the UK to the Alps. I’ve wanted to do this ever since watching this kzbin.info/www/bejne/oajEnWZmhtpma7Msi=QFoIWnVW_4IZ-E6l . Be warned though, if you watch it you may feel the need to go and buy an old Porsche (I did). But for everyday use, the Tesla wins hands down.

Cheers Matthew! That's actually funny, because me deciding to head down there was also because I watched a Porsche video driving there 😂 Not that video, but one very similar. 🙂

That was a typical psychopath who thinks its an insult if somebody overtakes him. I fear especialy in German speaking countries like Austria, Germany and Switzerland (i'm Swiss) this behavior is very common and unfortunately the numbers of those idiots are growing!

Yes that's what I also thought. I could kind of already sense it prior to overtaking him, when he started swerving lanes in the corners. I think it was to keep me from starting my pass too soon, probably only did so in efforts to deteriorate me of even trying. I try not to let these guys bother me too much, they're usually just unhappy with something in their own life. I hope they find happiness 🙏.

Why don't you just rent electric cars? That shouldn't be difficult. Instead of waiting on manufacturers contacting you for there cars. Which is based most of the times.

@Achillias in theory a possibilty, and it sounds very easy :-) however, I live a couple hundred kilometers away from any rental station that has the cars available that I would be interesting in testing against my Model 3. I would like to test on the same stretches. I already have results from here, as to match the conditions as closely as possible. Usually, more special cars come with a limited amount of km included, which I would go above just from the trips back and forth. Due to limited time constraints as per family life with a 1 year old, it's very difficult to find time to shoot, which also means I'd ideally have a car for a couple of days, at least. Weather is another concern, I don't want to test during rain or whatever, as the results would then not be comparable. Making fjnding a time to rent one, where I'm available yet another challenge. Perhaps the more pressing matter: renting a higher end EV is maybe around 300 eur per day, for a couple of days, plus extra miles and all the hassle + time, to shoot a video that KZbin pays me 15 to 20 dollars per uploaded video for, is unfortunately not feasible at this point 🫤🙂 Sure, there are small cheaper EVs that doesn't cost as much, but I would want to have somrthing thats also somewhat comparable with the M3P, to make the video interesting for my viewers 👍

Dude why is it only your voice can we atleast hear some motor whine or at least wind noise very dull listening to a voice over on a car review
@MisterFench10 күн бұрын
This was not a car review :-) Audio is only recorded through an old GoPro so it's not very pleasing listening to I'm afraid. Cheers 🙏
