I had a 2020 chassis and immediately ungraded springs and sway bar after my first trip down the I-5 with heavily grooved pavement, heavy truck traffic, cross wind etc and taking it along winding coastal roads. While the Unity was a pleasure to drive at lower speeds, not so on freeways and mountain passes. Probably any 25 ft motorhome on a sprinter would be the same. Now towing a small fibreglass trailer…so stress free.

Can you comment on the interior noise? Are there any rattles or constant squeaks from the house area? We rented an RV and it made so much noise and felt like it was going to fall apart behind us, it was very nerve racking to drive, especially when we got off a paved road where we could not drive faster than 12-15mph. Also, do you run the house AC when in really warm conditions? Can that be done if needed, like if traveling with pets??
@PagosaАй бұрын
There are of course noises in a traveling home, but the LTV is built well enough if you batten down the hatches, so to speak, you won't have an issue.

On a six week trip in my 2022 RL. Agree the adaptive cruise control is awesome and makes driving a lot easier. My question is do you use your cruise control when ascending and descending mountain passes? I’d manual shift in my previous RV but I tried using the cruise on my LTV and I seemed to be able to control my speed using the toggle switch on the steering wheel better than I could by using the paddles to upshift and downshift. Like anything else dealing with RVs there are those who say never use your cruise in the mountains and those who say it’s not a problem. Curious as to what you think or have heard. Thanks!

Nice honest review! I have to disagree with you on the TPS (tire pressure sensors). That’s a huge PLUS for me that Sprinter DOESN’T have it. These sensors have a life span of about 7-10 years, after which you have to replace them all (including the spare tire) - that would be 7 total at a cost of about $100 per sensor. Also, the sensors don’t even come on unless your tire is 20-30 psi down at which point you should be able to tell without the sensor if your tire is low. I cary a Milwaukee tire inflator and I have no worries. I agree with you 100% on the rear view mirror issue. Again, great review! Thanks.

Thanks as always for your excellent vids. Question for you about the A/C while driving say when it's hot outside. Does the cabin AC keep the entire coach fairly cool, or do you run your main (RV) AC while driving? Thanks again, and subbed to the podcast!
@Pagosa3 жыл бұрын
If it's 100 degrees and the coach has been sitting all day in the sun, baking, then we will kick the AC on. I'm fortunate that mine runs off battery, but most would start their generator and run the AC in the house while driving down the road. Once it's cooled down a bit, the front cab AC is perfectly adequate. On non 100 degree days, the Cab AC is all you need.

I saw on Andrew Steele's KZbin channel where he had a vibration at 70 mph on the steering wheel on his Sprinter chassis. He contacted a MB rep that he know and was advised that Michelin tires will make a Mercedes Benz ride smoother. So he replaced his Continental Tires with Michelin Tires. He said that it was a 1500 dollar upgrade and it solved the ride quality issue that he had. You may want to look at this if you have Continental Tires on your Sprinter Chassis?

Picked up the Unity in March and have put 9300 miles on it so far. That Crosswind Assist can be quite startling when you don't expect it. Also, the tires seem to maintain their pressure perfectly. Had to add a quart of oil and have put a total of 4.5 gal of DEF in it so far. Drove some dicey highways (UT-9, US-550, UT-12) and it handled great. It's great. LTV truly has one of the best fit and finish in the biz. In my floorplan, the only squeak culprit is the front TV as it's on an extendable arm. I use a piece of pool noodle to snug it up and it's great. You will hear more than in a car for sure, but actually very little compared to most RV's.

I realized I didn't touch on it while I was editing. It's actually not terrible. I actually was going to go with a half million dollar class A initially, so the LTV was a much nicer thought for my wallet. I 100% agree that going cheaper may turn you off of RVing. There are so many models that spend months in service right after they are bought because of quality. So imagine spending just a bit less than an LTV and not getting to use it. Interesting comparison. I think it is more a matter of the transmission and gearing rather than HP and torque. I imagine the new 7-speed transmission gives better performance and MPG as well. Yes, I'd like to see more of both in the diesel engine but the MB engineers likely found the sweet spot before locking down the specs on the engine/transmission.
