Wow. I don’t know why this came up in my feed but I am so touched. I did this road on a motorcycle in 1987. Had to carry spare Jerry cans of fuel. Camped at eagle station and then again at the ferry crossing when I missed the last boat. Had to wait an hour at one point for a herd of caribou crossing the road. Had to frequently go off road when the massive trucks came at me, showing a dust cloud you could see miles in advance. Met super friendly people in inuvik, and drank the most delicious beer of my life when I returned to Dawson covered head to toe and entire bike in dirt, dust and mud. Incredible. Thanks.

I also have done this adventure on a motorcycle 3 times now for the D2D event in Dawson City. Last year I did it in my van .......not the same on 4 wheels compared to two that's for sure......far less experiencing of being inside the thrill of the adventure when you have a steel roof around you for protection. Still a great time. Excellent video I might say....well done....

Your video Sofie has brought me dear memories of my travels into the Arctic all the way to Tuktoyaktuk and other places. That was back in 1999. Surprisingly the cook at the very small hotel in Tuktoyaktuk was originally from Cote D'Azur in France. In Inuvick, the owner of Mackenzie Hotel was a german who was taken prisoner during the 2nd world war. He liked Canada so much that after being set free, he moved back to Canada where he became a successful builder entrepreneur. I travelled a lot in my life but the Arctic has always made me very humble.

Thank you for the amazing trip to Tuktoyaktuk and what a marvelous adventure you presented to us! It's truly mind blowing and dangerous too. The epic trip is ones lifetime dream to be fulfilled and you did it. We salute the spirit of your mind that empower essential courage to face all the difficulties you have overcome. What's more important is that, you describe it simply with a few words to realize the untold words of the majestic view of nature which, we highly appreciated, moreover those diverse and novelty description as well. You know that, a silent description can depict more living tale than the words. You were not alone throughout the journey, you had a companion besides you, named "the sound of silence " which was prevailing everywhere with you. Sometimes we seems that you're a part of the nature, that provides your potential security all the way and nature did it honestly. Our expectation is mounting up for a new excitement to explore. Have a happy and safe trip next.

Hi great video. Looks like you had a nice time. I have been thinking of doing this trip for a while. I was wondering if I could ask you some questions. Did your windshield break on the way up? How did your car slip off the road? And how cold was it. Thanks, Mayra.
@sofiemera2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mayra, it was broken before but I had another impact, this is something to expect driving up north, big trucks throw the small rocks on the windshield when passing It did because I was on my phone and it’s gravel road, it was too late when I wanted to avoid it It was nice around 20 degrees, the ocean was cold but outside just a jacket
