I just picked up the AWD Mach-E and it has been fun to drive. The instant torque is awesome and the silence while accelerating is an interesting experience. I love the exhaust on my other cars, but there is something awesome about stepping on it and taking off like a bat out of hell without anyone around your hearing it.

If they were born a century ago they’d be the same ones complaining about going from horses to cars. Change shouldn’t be scary, it should be exciting and invigorating. Much love from Texas (I think of your cloverleaf drift every time I drive through Lake Worth) ❤

to everyone complaining about electric rally cars they've clearly never had the pleasure of running and wrenching on RC cars, it's just a 1 scale afterall! my only gripe with EVs are the resale value and battery replacements in 7-10 years when the market is flooded with them. also I hope they spent a lot of time and money on a proper skid plate for these models...an EV fire could burn an entire forest down in an hour
@EUC-lid5 ай бұрын
Most EVs come with a battery warranty around 10 years. 2.5% of all EVs have had their batteries replaced so far (including all the massive recalls by GM, etc). Meanwhile the average ICE lasts 10 years (meaning if automakers warrantied them like they do EVs, they’d be replacing half the engines on the road under warranty… like Kia-Hyundai.)

Vaughn, what are your thoughts on what Hyundai is doing with their ionic 5 n? In N mode, it makes it to where you can actually shift it like it’s a dual clutch. It also simulates an RPM range and pipes in engine noise from the Elantra N. Wonder if you could do something similar with the Mach E and pipe in 5.0 noises and have it shift like the Ionic 5

Miata's are great fun cars to drive most have under 200hp and they are great cars to drive. an EV can be fun to drive, they just need to be able to figure out how the car feels and the pedal control and traction control and stability control stuff.

My two cents as it were. - I'm excited about what electric motors can do. I started off on electric R/C hobby into nitro and then cars etc.... - Too many "controls" have been taken from the pilot in modern cars, electric moreso. The less involving, the less involved. (Gears selections, TC, direct road feel, etc) I understand the argument with the single gear range, I still don't like it. I had a 2 spd on my R/C electric truck... - Range of energy available and speed of energy replenishment. - Unfortunate circumstance of how the energy is stored, EV vehicles are so large/heavy. To accommodate that much weight and keep it low makes for a very large footprint and a bit of a bulbous look to reduce drag. -This is more the medium to enter the Mach-E into (imo) ... - I still can't consider it a Mustang. It's more like a Bull.

They really should've kept the mustang nameplate off of it and just called it the Mach E. Electric vehicles are cool as an option. It'll be a forced future in the US and won't last very long once it becomes mandated. These cars, specifically the mach e, have a slew of issues. They need more polish that they're not getting thanks to the amount of time the manufacturers have been given to put vehicles like these into production. Cool car though.
