My mom lived in Miami during the 60s before she moved to Orlando in 1974-1975.. Miami looked so clean and inviting back then. I can’t get enough of these old videos 🤩

I first saw this area in 1973 on a 3-week vacation. My family moved to Miami in '74, and this ride would have looked very similar. Hubby's family moved to Miami in the 50s, and his mom and dad worked at the Fountainbleau. Got to see celebrities of that era --Sinatra and ilk. How nostalgic. But, to be precise, this is MIAMI BEACH...not Miami. :)

@@MRresievil310Always with this weak generalization! Did you get this idea from your college professor? Anyone who took advantage of the most prosperous era in human history would've benefited from it. Furthermore, white people shouldn't be villainized for capitalizing on their efforts and sacrifices. Do you know how many white men lost their lives fighting for the US in WWII? Lastly, if white people are so hated and an implied scourge on society, why does EVERYONE want to live in our communities?

Everything you see in this video was dirt cheap by both 1960s standards and today. Rental cars were cheap, hotels were cheap, and the food was cheap in Florida. Only the air fare was a bit high but not out of reach for a good portion of the population. Try going to overcrowded Miami Beach today and see what it costs for far worse service in 2024 vs the 60's.
