I've got to say thank you for this video. I have wanted to go to there since my mum showed me photos of Innsbruck in 1976! My son is profoundly disabled and in a wheelchair so travelling is not really an option these days. Having recently discovered KZbin (I know.....old people!!!), our whole world has opened up. Hubby thinks I'm nuts watching someone else's car trip but I love it - much more satisfying than the Tour de France which I watch every year just to capture the scenery...lol! Keep it up, please....a very grateful Aussie Cheers!

The "castle" we see at 1:07:45 is the "Seefeld Play Castle", opened in 1998 as an interactive amusement park and then closed a year later. There's also a train station there that was abandoned as well. According to the German Wikipedia, it is only occasionally used for events nowadays.

Yes, but that part of Europe is a lot rich, in Italy (Centre and South) we have big problems with roads, google "Potholes in Rome" and you'll see. I don't live in Rome fortunately, I live in Milan, where roads are better tham the rest of the Country.

Aaron Bogatch I am a German trucker, who has driven in more than 20 European countries. The by far most beautiful country is Norway. Norway has more road tunnels than any other country on this planet. The longest road tunnel is the lærdalstunnelen, 24.5 km or 15.3 miles. It takes 20 minutes for a drive thru, but there are three blue lightened resting lots in this tunnel. Wherever you are in Norway you see a postcard scenery, no exaggeration. But Norway is the most expensive country on earth. Another beautiful country is Croatia, then the center of France, the Pyrenees in Spain, Andorra, France, the Alpes with France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria and South Germany, if you are in Italy, then take a trip to San Marino and Rome with the Vatican State. There is a beautiful canyon in Northwest Spain, near Barcelona. Not so long like the Grand canyon but gorgeous. The very best roads are in The Netherlands, the country with the densiest motorway system on Earth, and every mile is a pleasure to drive. You have to pay toll in the some countries like France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Balkan countries. If you are in Norway then take a trip to the Geijrangerfjord and to the Trollstigen road, you will never forget it. But there are many, many 1 or 1 1/2 lane roads there. Btw I have driven on such roads with my 40 tons truck German Autobahns are toll free, still toll free. If you are in Austria then you have to buy a ticket for the Austrian motorway, but BEFORE you are in Austria. There is an extra toll control at the first parking place at the Austrian side of the border. You can buy the tickets at the most rest houses and fuel stations along the motorways to Austria. You will pay pretty much money fine without this "pickerl" in Austria. More than 50% of the German Autobahn are without any speed limit. You can go as fast as you want.

Did you go through one toll booth at the start, then round and back through another?
@Jo56619 жыл бұрын
In Italy you have a closed toll System, i. e. the toll depends on the length of your path on the highway. At the first booth (in this case "Vipiteno/Sterzing) you get a ticket (in this case with the text "Vipiteno/Sterzing" on it); at the second (in this case "Brennero/Brenner" (although the booth is 16 km off the border)) you pay (in this case the path Vipiteno-Brennero).

why most of the highways have those high barriers?
Why are you almost continuously driving on the left lane?
@thegreatslothlord77968 жыл бұрын
In different countries you drive on the different side of the road for example, in Australia where I live we drive on the side closest to the driver (right) and in America you drive on the side closet to the passenger (left).
@hugogoned8 жыл бұрын
Right, but here you're driving from Italy to Germany and you should keep the right lane as much as possible.

And I thought the Highway 101 Scenic route from California through the Oregon coast line to Washington state was beautiful. This drive through the Swiss/ Austrian Alps is 10 times more beautiful. The snowcap mountains are nice. Europe's expressways and high speed bullet train systems looks so technologically advanced and modernized than the U.S.'s. We need to upgrade ours big time. We can create millions of new jobs rebuilding our crumbling infrastructures across the country.
