@@thestreethistorian Downtown Baltimore extends far from where you were, and you purposely chose the west side of downtown to prove a point. If you aren’t familiar with the area, you should get someone to drive you from Harbor East, up Charles Street to Penn Station, back down St. Paul and behind the harbor to Federal Hill. That’s several miles of the downtown area that you neglected to show.

This comment really pissed me off. I was born and raised in Baltimore in a ‘good’ & ‘nice’ neighborhood, that was 99% Black. Of course since the houses are nice and now being sold for the mid 500,000s there’s been an influx of white people from the suburbs. This was and is a middle class area, we pay 5,000 a year in propriety taxes and as This influx expands the property tax numbers will inevitably go up the demographics of our neighborhood will change. Pushing out the families that have BEEN here. Also As a Baltimore city public schools teacher (in the ‘inner city’) it really pissed me off when I get recommended these random videos and people from god knows where make inane comments about this city and (presumably) it’s Black & Latino population. Fuck off. Take a minute to think about the people who live here, who may be in a situation that looks crappy to you of no choice of their own particularly KIDS. I’ve also lived in more than one African ‘third world’ country for all the idiots making that comparison it’s *surprise* not exactly the same. This is not MOgAdIShU.

Believe it or not there's more to downtown Baltimore than just the streets immediately adjacent to the Inner Harbor. Streets like Fayette, Saratoga, Park, Howard and just about all the others in this video east of MLK are within the bounds of the neighborhood of "Downtown Baltimore".
