Nice to see where I called home for 27 years but they literally drove into the northern edge of town then out of town. It's not a big place but there's more to it than that.

I’m high right now so this defiantly felt like memory lane I loved there from when I was 2-11 years old man it’s crazy to see the town I grew up in grow and change it’s sad but pleasing to watch. As life passes you by the only thing you can do is except change

I feel sorry for the poor soldiers at Fort Johnson. This ! This right here!.....is why Fort Johnson is the worst duty station in the World. With a Base like Fort Johnson, something corrupt is going on with the Louisiana economy.

When my ex was stationed at Fort Polk, Leesville had two other names. They were Sleazeville and Diseaseville. This was in the mid 80s. I hope that is not true today.

It looks more run down than when I lived there from 1986-1990 on Ft. Polk.

I agree I see some of the old buildings that are still there from the early 1970s . Same old police station building there on the left where the old 4 corners used to be , lots of old buildings really . I used to go to the Y grocery store back in the mid 80s , some old couple ran it very nice people I'm sure they are long dead by now . The old store looks like hell wonder how long that has been abandoned ? The cut rate liquor the merry go round looks abandoned . I see big patches of rust on the roof I've never seen it in such terrible shape that's where we always used to go to buy drink . Mr. Whitey owned and ran that for years last time I was there was 2009 , and it was still going he is probably long dead by now . I lived in the Pickering Fort Polk area from 1968 when I was 5 to 1977 then the Leesville area in 1978 then outside of Anacoco from 1979 to 1988

Stationed at Fort Polk for 1965 to 67. Mostly went to Leesville after duty to get drunk. Red Wood Room as I recall. Always drove or rode on back roads and unguarded entrances in the base.

@@johnfuchs3264 My parents stayed there when they visited me. As I recall, best place in town for a meal and beverages. Was a laundry mart across from the parking lot. Drop of clothes and when you came back they were washed, dried and put on hangers. Always gave the attendant a nice tip.

Stationed there (Polk) from 1987-1990. Nice folks in Leesville, but I literally fled the Pentecostal church in the middle of the night. Haven't been back since '91. BTW, your background music was perfect!
