U should not coast the car in neutral, when car is in neutral the engine oil doesn't flow thru the engine parts and it damages the transmission, forget about saving fuel it wil cost you a hell when engine gets damaged.

usually when the car is on neutral people tend to turn off the engine/transmission, that's when the oil flow is cutoff..Switching to neutral will reduce the control you have over the car. This can prove to be life-threatening in a risky situation, you loose engine braking and over heat your breaks, moreover in the neutral position, no gear is engaged with the flywheel of the engine.

@@rajesh1906 yes also apart from safety reasons, fuel consumption is also more in neutral(engine on) . So its wise to always be in gear when coasting. Thanks

Bhai if you are running 50-60 kms per day , then you should have gone for diesel , petrol vehicle is suitable for Weekly user not good for Daily users

I own i20 diesel sportz 2012 second vehicle which is driven 93k. Recently serviced. Getting 15 on an average in city and highway. Gear is hard abit on 3rd. One of the mechanic said to change the clutch plate. Any solution for this. Owner said 20+ on highway and 17+ in city.

I feel putting in neutral while car is running is not actually saving fuel since engine will still be running and consuming fuel. Just the MID fuel economy reading improves with that trick but in real it will be negligible fuel saved.

This is not a technique for safe driving . Basically the new i20 has low mileage as per my personal experience . Managed driving looking at meter is no fun driving and highly unsafe looking at the RPM and driving .

@youtube video So here is my latest experience . I did 640kms and the mileage was a resounding 19kms per/ltr . This was a mix of highways , hills , with AC , without AC . This is a Diesel Car. As for city it gives a mileage of 12 to 14 with AC and 17 to 18 without AC . So I am thinking the car would easily give above 22Kms on a flat surface and a long drive .

Brother Hariom, in this video I saw Upward Gear shift indicator however Downward gear shift cannot be seen. Actually, I have Asta(o). In my car downward gear shift indicator is not displayed however upward gear shift indicator is displayed. I think it should be displayed both up and down. It's clearly shown in page 98 of the Manual Book uploaded by Hyundai India. In this matter kindly share your knowledge.
