Tokyo metropolitan express way define as not High way ( limit 80 to 120km/h) or free way in Japanese. It is Motorway, not for Bicycle or pedestrian) So there is speed limits quite low. In Japan, 2 types High way : 80 to 120km/h Motor way : below 80km/h, Tokyo or Osaka or Nagoya or etc
@onlyinjapanGO4 жыл бұрын
When in doubt, I go 80kph. I rarely go over 100kph because I’m not in a hurry. On local roads, I rarely go over 50kph unless stated at 80.

Dear John, Thank you once again for showing us around. I’m building confidence in driving there. Does the GPS system shows the speed limit of your area? @6:52 , instead of looking back or sticking your head dangerously out of your window. KSPRAYDAD you can bicycle but NOT ON THE HIGHWAY. There are no bicycle signs. Actually, you can take Route 1 there which is the old Tokaido Highway people walked to Kyoto. I rode my bicycle to Kyoto once.

@@onlyinjapanGO Oh thats great to know...I suppose for longer trips between areas I can take the bike onto the train but if there are calmer bike friendly roads I think I'd prefer to see the country that way...not going to 'chance' a car haha. The picture in picture thing takes like 1/4 of the screen john. Is it possible to minimize that more or what. Didnt get a good look of the bridge really.
