Join me this time as I'm taking you on a trip to explore the main parts of Hussein Dey, this old and mythical neighborhood of Algiers that I chose to be the starting point of many of my first videos. The neighborhood is average in size compared to other neighborhoods of Algiers. It has three main streets which are Tripoli Street (the northernmost and the oldest, formerly known as the Constantine Road in colonial times), Fernane Hanafi Street (the southern road) and Boudjemaa Moghni Street (which sits between the two former). Hussein Dey is named after the last Ottoman governor of Algeria who was surrendered to the French upon their capturing of Algiers in 1830. The neighborhood is home to two of his residences. It's also home to the Nafissa Hamoud Hospital, formerly known as Parnet and the Sablettes Walkway which is on the seashore, outside the main neighborhood. Enjoy the tour and don't forget to like and subscribe :-)
