Beautiful car mate! My biggest regret is not getting a 280 when I should have. Rectifying that this fall, picking up a L28, taken out of an old short Patrol. Getting a cheap diesel Laurel which will serve two functions, it has a LD28 engine so I can use the crank from it in the L28, but I can also use the Laurel itself as a build & test platform for the engine, daily it for a year or two and make sure it beds in properly, then get a Z shell.

A classic as fine as any other car of that era, due to perfect timing, I just couldn’t get my hands on one and its way tougher now. 400 or so hp and 5-6 gears would be quite the machine.

Man, I wish I could afford one. Sadly, their prices skyrocketed these last years.

Same man, when I was 15 (when I discovered this car) they were 2 time cheaper, now im 21 and if the price would have stayed the same i could afford one... but no we gotta pay for the hipe... Depends where you live, in the USA they are still considered cheap but where im from in france its 40k for a clean example, 20k for one with minor restoration to do but they are rare ASF...

@starman5872 I'm from France too. The cheapest solution would be to import it, but knowing that France is a place where you can't have fun as a car guy, registration would probably be a nightmare.

@dosh8276 actually for a car that is éligible to be "collection" it's not that hard, maybe 900 of taxes and then you submit a request at the ffve. The car has to be mostly stock, but this prevent having to go through all the homologation stuff and the mines wich is a pain in the ass... the most complicated part is finding a good car at the other part of the world, and then finding a company worthy to bring it back... I wish you the best of luck! There are lots of forum wich will give you more information in case.

@@starman5872 I'm not really planning to have a 240Z because I know it's completely out of my reach in this current economy, I don't make that kind of money either. I'll be 20 this year, I got a car oriented job, but I'm paid minimum wage (first job so it's understandable). I currently have a 1989 190E in decent enough condition to use as my daily. I gradually restore it and I'm pretty happy with it for now. I'll see to find a "sunday drive" car later in the future if I manage to reah financial stability.

Were you test driving this Z prior to purchase? Also the oil pressure seemed low at idle? But SEXY as hell!
@andrewb3497
@andrewb3497 2 жыл бұрын
As the Temp gauge showed it was already warmed up the oil pressure would be lower that at cold start. It is recommended to fit an oil pump from a L28 turbo to get better pressure.

Don't "shuffle" the steering wheel. You should always steer hand over hand. I see the "granny shuffle" over and over on YT.

Or… you steer how you want to steer and I’ll do the same.
@zombywoof1072
@zombywoof1072 10 ай бұрын
@@sj119808 Sure, no hard feelings, but the worst way to steer is the granny shuffle with uneven hand spacing. The next best is the pseudo-3 and 9 shuffle. Some misguided people recommend it because ...mercy... what if the airbag deploys and your arm is in the way? But shuffling of any kind is the best way to get in an accident. The next best is hand over hand. High performance... the only way to go is fixed grip 3 and 9. Watch a NASCAR driver. F1 cars don't even have a round wheel. It's up to you to be insulted or improve. Golf, baseball, shooting... there's right and wrong. Do things right and you'll get more out of the nice car you've got with the small diameter wheel. Which is what you're doing a lot of the time anyway.
