Engine needs more air intake to deliver more power, as you are travelling in high altitude it is common in every vehicle that engine horse power will be reduced by 20% from it's full power thus it will struggle a bit while climbing in high altitude uphills.

@@Common_Man9565 It's not about the engine it's about the oxygen content in air, without significant oxygen engine cannot burn the fuel properly thus it will reduce the performance, so even if you take a Lamborghini V8 engine into the high altitude it will not perform very well without sufficient oxygen level in the air.
