Jamaica is collecting crazy money from various taxes, so they are thinking, why not waste the money foolishly. Downtown Kingstown has the most abandoned buildings in the Caribbean, and a new building could help with the redevelopment, so this rental wouldn't make any sense.

Remember there was an issue with the building being too tall looking over the Prime Minister's office. So I think they are renting it out for security reason.

130k usd per month for the entire building is extremely cheap. You are talking about 10 stories, how many individual office or residential units are in the building ? You have factor that in and see. If there are 5 units a floor, that’s 50 units total and that works out to be $2600usd per month for each unit to cover the cost of the building. Renting each unit above that price point would mean a profit and positive cash flow. So now ask what kind of rent can you expect from those units

US$130,000 is NOT cheap. It is approximately J$20,400,000 per month.

@@oralacampbell6017 should let you know that the building in Mandeville is about 43,000 sq ft for about 12 million a month and I am sure that 10 storey building is more than 43 thousand square footage of space .
