Thanks for more great content Ali. I’m following you and building a few years behind you :). So far we’re Gladiator’d up with an AT Overland Atlas camper and built out with the Goose Gear Camp System, National Luna, a practical awning, and a few other comfort goodies for the family and on longer trips. I may need to raise it a couple of inches as I’m not used to the belly rubbing so much. Best to you and yours. Ofer

Thanks! I have looked at their stuff. It’s super nice. I ended up going with the EcoFlow setup so I could use it other places as well. It’s around the same cost, but the portability was a big draw for me.

Sweet rig. Was wondering when we might start seeing these kind of backs on Gladiators here in the States. I went Alucab Canopy (not the camper) on mine- I needed something to securely carry my mountain bike and gear and it works great and only cost me about $3,700 including install. Btw- Love your content. Thanks to you I’m riding on AEV Savagre II wheels on 35s with no lift. Lift is coming this winter but fact that I didn’t have to get it in order to run the 35s was nice. And the AEV wheels have been great. See you on the trails if you get up to MD, VA, WV area. 🤙

Digital rearview mirrors are great - added one to my Tundra with a GFC and it makes city and highway driving much less stressful. Its a 170 degree camera right off the back of the camper so you don't just see straight back like you would with a regular mirror but also out to the sides, so while merging you can see all of the adjacent lanes to the left instead of having to do a massive shoulder check. It is a bit distracting having another screen right at eye level but super easy to turn off if its too distracting. Would highly recommend.

Dang, this is awesome, and you pretty much answered every question I'd thought of after your first video on this upgrade. I've wondered about when there would be an after market "camera stitching" solution offered like Ford and others have on their new trucks - could see such a system being super cool in your application, especially with the bed overhangs. Super cool update, great video as always. Only question I can come for ya is ---- what's next? :)

I would love some sort of 360 camera. That would be awesome. Seems like it’s inevitable that someone will come up with some sort of aftermarket solution. What’s next is to enjoy it! I’m sure I will add on more stuff eventually, but I want to get some miles on it. I took my kids up to Uwharrie with it this weekend and it was so nice to have for a variety of reasons.

This to me just seems like a lot of complexity and weight for not much gain over the regular Gladiator bed and a stainless steel cap. I mean that fridge slide alone probably weighs 50lb in total and the fridge still takes up half the back.

This setup with the canopy is around 400 pounds heavier over stock. You can see the tray weight for the full-size bed on the Mule Expedition Outfitters website.

How much is this thing and are there any plans to offer it 40” ready?
@DrivingLine
@DrivingLine Жыл бұрын
They start at 11K. If you option it out like I did, they get close to the mid 20s once you factor in shipping and add-ons. Technically, it works with the 40s, just not with a super low lift like mine.

But seriously. That looks rad. I recently got an RSI Smart Cap for the Tacoma and LOVE the side doors. I think leaving the driver side empty was a good call. You'll use that a lot all the time. I'm thinking of setting up a smaller Pelican case there for camera gear to be able to grab it quickly.
@DrivingLine
@DrivingLine Жыл бұрын
I’m still super paranoid about it. Thankfully, almost every edge on this box is rounded or capped.
@DrivingLine

My pelican and drone case fit there perfectly, so does my longer tool bag. I’m really excited with the set up. The kids are way more interested in going off road these days and camping. I think this is going to be a good transition for this Jeep. It’ll also give me an excuse to do completely unnecessary, yet awesome things to my Wrangler…

@carlosmiguelabadilla1282 Жыл бұрын
@@DrivingLine would you recommend re gearing 5.13 on 35s with a mits alloy set up at the back?
@DrivingLine
@DrivingLine Жыл бұрын
It's going to rev a little high on the highway with a 5.13. A 4.88 would probably be a better overall gear for a 35. The only thing I will add to that is if you are going to see a lot of highway speed above 65, the bed sort of acts like pulling a trailer in that it's wider that the body. That makes the wind drag a bit worse and a higher gear will help with that.
