The most debated particulars among unsuccessful driving test candidates are the following: 1. Late instruction by the assessors during PDA 2. Insufficient observation when reversing 3. A candidate performs two manoeuvres instead of one Here are our five most common reasons for failing Watch >>> kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKHKYqF8qZqUfrc

I failed yesterday due to the examiner lying on the assessment about events that didn't happen. He also attempted to place me into a very dangerous situation at a notorious set of lights by instructing me to go out into the middle of the lights seconds before it changed to red. Oncoming traffic was heavy, and I wouldn't have gotten across either way and instead been trapped. When I told him my reasoning for not doing what he said, he agreed with my reason, and yet he failed me due to his own error. He also claimed I wasn't not in control of the car when I was. When we got back to the Burleigh waters TMR I politely called him out on his lies and he simply shoved the feedback paper at me and walked away instead of listening. I have since placed a formal complaint against him for his actions.

Hi there, I sat my driving test today (my 3rd driving test) and everyone, including my instructor, thought I would pass. I understood why I didn’t pass the last two times but today really got to me. I was doing very well (passing with flying colours in all the sections I completed according to the marks I received). I stopped at a roundabout because I was sure it wasn’t safe to cross. In fact a car coming from opposite me turned right with out indicating! As I was waiting a heavy, oversized truck was approaching so I decided to wait. He said ‘why are you waiting it’s your right of way!’ And I said oh ok sorry. He took me straight back to the Kelmscott driving centre and failed me for ‘verbal intervention’, even though it was not necessary. I understand that I may have been a bit slow on the roundabout but I cannot believe he failed me for it. I was so confused when he brought me back because I genuinely thought I was doing well.

i failed because my instructor was an old lady and made a rule out of no where that when parking you have to put the gear into first incase of a handbrake fail. 1. this only works when you turn off your engine and when your car has a chance of rolling back. I was in a downhill so first gear would have done nothing.

My son did all his lessons with his instructor..in the same car each lesson.. on the day of his test, the instructor turned up in a completely different car.. indicators on opposite side of steering column, different gear spacing & clutch point.. he failed before he got out of the carpark at West Perth & was heartbroken.. it wasn't the assessors fault but it was an expensive & annoying learning experience! He is a first year apprentice plumber & works hard for his pay.. paid over $700 in lessons & never once drove around West Perth!?? I wish we had found someone like you before he forked out so much just to be shafted.. he has another test 10:30am on the 11/1 at City West in a familiar family car.. we have been driving the area & using your videos as study guides.. thanks for sharing your knowledge!!!!

Sorry to hear he didn't pass. Yeah, it may take some adjustment time especially for an inexperienced driver when the clutch feel different and indicators on the left side. We would be delighted to help. Our Online bookings here autoandmanual.appointy.com

I failed in kelmscott because of stopping for shopping, he made me do two parking immediately after each other, first was forward parking which was good, thinking that was over he then told me to do reverse parking close to another car in the same car park. During the manoeuvre for the reverse parking I was doing the 90 degree angle as I was taught by my instructor. He then said “what are you doing” I then panicked thinking I was supposed to do 45 degree angle so I ended up doing the parking wrong. He also said I was too slow in a shopping centre, I was doing 10-20km/h as it was busy at 10:20am, I don’t know what speed I am supposed to do in shopping centres now? He did not talk to me during the test or give instructions he just said follow the markings on the road as your directions. I was so nervous but I am normally a confident driver I feel I was marked unfairly and he was rushing to end the test. He also gave instructions late . I think they need to give more time to perform manoeuvres like parking and not rush the driver. It was a bad experience and it was my first pda.

10 km per hour in carparks is more than fast enogh, and the assessor should not have asked you to go any faster. Carparks are private property and rot regulated by main roads, but we shouldn't speed through such places (shop and similar). We are sorry to hear about your exoperience

Hi sir, I have just come across this video and want to write about my struggling journey. It has been my 6 times and still, I did not get my license. Every time examiner brings a new thing that is totally hard to understand and each time I practice and I don't know what examiners want. for the first time, I was unaware of the layout of the test and I failed. The next time I practiced and give my test one of the examiners said that you are not smooth as on my give way I just looked and went and he failed me. For the third test, my examiner failed me because I was too slow as I was following the last examiner instruction. Then I took classes from the instructor and practiced on my reverse parking. On the test day when I was doing as guided my instructor examiner failed me. On the next test, I was late just 5 minutes because of work on the leach highway and they did not take my test. My all test were in Cannington, Then I thought to give a go to another center and I booked in success and now my examiner failed me that in the empty shopping center you did not look too much around as I give a few looks and then focus on my reverse parking. and finally, he pointed out my static steering in parking and failed me. This is a totally new thing for me in parking which never before anyone pointed out. I don't know how this journey will stop as I am doing my studies in uni and have two kids and it's getting harder and I am really disappointed. They are making things hard because it's hard to pass with a clean sheet. In my last test, I did all exercises (parking forward and reverse, park anywhere left something behind) and the time of the test was 45 min. Also in the last test, I secure in every section higher as required and in one I secure 3/4 and I am failed. I don't know what should I do as I spent a lot of money and they all have their own rules.

The first test I had was in cannington. He failed me because I didn't pull out into an intersection when there was no arrow. That was it. I didn't get to do anything else. My second test was in kelmscott a few days ago. I finished the whole test and he made it sound like I passed the whole time. Everytime I did a little something wrong he would mark me down more than once. I did a perfect reverse park and he marked me down because there was about ten centimetres more on my side. He said he wouldn't be able to open his door. I slowed down at a give way and stopped because I couldn't see. I only did that one and he marked me down multiple times. Then he wrote the reason i failed as driving on the wrong side of the road which never even happened. I was two marks away from passing. Now I can't get another test and I know I should have passed. What do I do?

Sorry to hear that. The situation at Cannington, they have to fail for not proceeding in the middle while there's no green arrow and single green light. Keep checking for the availability. Best times to find a test booking are 10 AM to 1 PM Monday to Thursday (refresh the search multiple times). If you get the same assessor and you believe that they treated you unfairly, you can request a different assessor and they will swap. Best of luck next time!

I was failed for looking over my shoulder when I did the left something behind test.He made such a big deal about it.He asked why I did it twice I said it because we were doing it so close to a junction and I was just making sure it was safe.He asked me who told me I need to make sure twice. He also didn’t ask me to do reverse parking but indicated on the test results that I couldn’t do it.And just to be clear is it okay to use someone’s driveway (not going past the letter box) to do a three point turn? I asked him if during the test I made him feel unsafe he said no I’ve done this driving tests so much am giving up on them.Every-time am told something different. In one occasion I was judged before I started driving.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Do you mind if I ask which test centre? We had similar complaints about one of the examiners at Mirrabooka DoT. They have double standards sometimes and unfortunately bring their private frustration to work according to some candidates. It's best to lodge a complaint on the same day, everything is voice recorded and they can see GPS coordinates. Don't give up

I failed my first test for 2 reasons, the first was that when I pulled over to a curb I left my indicator on (my engine is still running and I have been informed to pull over for instructions) and both my dad and instructor we paid to do lessons with told me to leave on my indicator, but she told me that I had to turn it off, and because I did this 3 times it added up to a fail, the second was when she told me to “leave the car as if you were leaving it over night” I did all the things you need to do, then she repeated the instructions and when I said “yep” she told me to put into neutral (I had it in first) and I had a cousin fail because she didn’t leave it first and had it in neutral, so I was confused on why this was another Brasov she failed me. Any advice or information on if it was a fair result?

Sorry to hear about bad experience you had! They changed the routine back in 2018 to switch off the indicator when stopped or parked. They shouldn't fail for it in our opinion at all because there is no immediate nor potential risk. Also, we hear a lot about double standards and misconduct due to some examiners reportedly being in an extremely bad mood for no apparent reason. Some believe that they take out their personal frustrations out on people like yourself which is not acceptable. It's best to lodge a formal complaint in person on the day of the test as there is voice recording in the App the test you through, and they can access GPS coordinates with speed you were doing if there is speeding involved. Leaving indicators should not carry much importance, bus drivers leave it on, taxis leave it on. They used to mark for switching them off up until 2018. If you do a test at same centre, you can request a differen assessor and don't take no for an answer. Also, it's best to leave it in a gear, ideally 1st or reverse gear when you leaving the manual transmission car. Do you mind sharing which test centre?

Hello, I just noticed that you said the assessor’s Ipad has voice record, is it right? I had experience for the first test I failed. Stopping for shopping exercise. Assessor told me and pointed the car park shopping centre(front side) to stop there, later on. She asked me to remember that car park. By then she said let’s keep driving. After driving arround, she brought me to the other side(back) of shopping centre. So I thought she would say turn left then right(to the front of shopping centre). But she asked me to follow the road and all of sudden asked me to turn left. Then she asked me REMEMBER?? So I did not say anything. I felt so weird because it was first time for the test. And I thought if we stop somewhere, we are gonna stop on the same spot. And she failed me to becauae abrupt steering. If it will be same case next time, can We say something to them? Just confusing. Thank you.

if you have a driving instructor, ask them if there are reasonable grounds to make a complaint. If so, it's best to submit a formal complaint straight after the PDA. Avoid arguing with the assessor, speak to the management and they should review the assessment result. Thank you for watching!
