Incidentally, I got a lot of people saying "fresh!" when I wore the backward cap and sunglasses the splatfest before last. It must've been a huge hit or something in Japan if the devs decided to add the ability to wear the other caps backwards if you want to.

Additional things I’ve noticed: The Sorella Brella might not have Inkjet. During the Inkjets for Everyone segment, I noticed multiple other promo characters, like the Custom Goo Tuber, Dread Wringer, and Gold Dynamo Roller. It may still have Inkjet, but it’s not confirmed. The shirt the Octobrush Nouveau player is wearing has Sub Saver. This may mean they have a 60%-70% sub weapon. A similar situation happened with the Tri-Slosher. The Goo Tuber looks like it has a 50%-60% ink tank.

Autobomb might actually be good for stringer, you could set up traps where you set auto bomb at one side of an opponent to force them to move into the suction bomb arrows to damage them. Hopefully it gets a good special along with it

Theres a lot of completely valid reasons to be upset with the update. 8 kits is 66% of the number of kits we should be getting when one per week used to be the norm. If they put this much work into 2 new stages they could have at least made truly good stages and not just "I guess we have no reason to ban these". New mains are cool but that's basically all the update really has going for it and there's a serious risk of them being immediately unfun. We could have gotten a post-launch new sub weapon by now but we just haven't, and unless I'm stupid Line Marker is the ONLY new sub.

all of the “new content” is literally just rehash of previous stuff: all the new maps pretty much having the same shape, less and less weapon kits, there isn’t going to be a new ranked mode in this game, etc. it’s just all going wrong and i don’t think it will ever change, salmon run is the only thing that drastically improved. other than the new movement options, some of the new weapons, the story mode and maybe side order, this game doesn’t set itself apart or do anything interesting tbh.

Content is content for me at the end of the day. Even if it’s not enough I’ll still take anything we can get. I just really need these maps to deliver competitive wise, especially on TC and RM. I think its shots drip paint so it paints under them. You can see that in the shot where it kills the dynamo, it paints over its vertical flick while shooting the dynamo.

I mean expectations can too easily get out of control and pass into deluded fantasy. In a perfect world, we'd have better designed maps with proper side routes that aren't narrow hallways or boring symmetrical tetris blocks with only one way in. Or just not super tiny in general. Mahi Mahi is huge in 1 and almost unrecognizable from the one i know (2 was my first splatoon game). Even just permanently having Mahi after the water lowers would be an improvement, sad and as minimum as that is. It wouldn't be much of one, but it's _something._

You mentioned that the Dead Wringer looked weird, it's because it's some sort of clothes washing bucket with a wringer to, well, wring out clothes. So like sloshing machine but a bit more old school technology wise. It could also be a mop bucket that you can wring the mop out with, it looks similar to the buckets I used in food service when cleaning up

@@sharkgam3z592 I think the balance rn is actually pretty good. The top tiers aren't bad for the game and yeah, ideally bottom tiers shouldn't exist but what can we do? Weapons like Dynamo and Brella would definitely need some gymnastics to become a weapon worth picking competitively or even just usable weapons in lower level competitive (S+, S and even standard X) although, as much as I wanna play those weapons, it's not what the game NEEDS There's too many words here so basically, the maps are getting too repetitive. They follow the same formula of left spawn, right mid with two ways to get in, with one being significantly worse than the other, which is always the side route. I didn't even mention how small they are. Or at least feel. There's no verticality, even in Flounder HEIGHTS, they removed an entire storey. The only verticality you find in most maps is the glorified trench that is mid. I'm sorry for writing 2 essays on you but that all kinda came outta my system at once 💀

This game is suffering a lot because of the seasonal updates (3 MONTHS!!) and lack of exciting and improved content when announced. The season philosophy is not bad and works for other games like fortnite, but here’s the difference, fortnite adds a good/big amount of content at the start of a new season, but continue to add and change things THROUGHOUT the season to spice things up. In these last few updates, splatoon 3 has been adding mediocre content at the start of each new season while NOT ADDING ANYTHING ELSE throughout the season, making the mid to late season dry. Not to mention that there’s only ONE balance patch within the 3 months of that season 🙄 The playerbase will dwindle because of these poor and unwilling-to-change updates and it sucks to see that each new season has largely become “they should’ve added…” instead of “they added so many good things!!”

All hope for every weapon to get a third kit in SPLATOON 3 is pretty much dead at this point, with how few kits they are adding for the ANNIVERSARY of the game the chances of third kits for every weapon are slim to none

It’s like they’re trying to make sure there’s still a few weapons that won’t have second kits until the last season where they finally add a second kit for the last few weapons and then that’ll be it. They started with 10 new kits plus 3 new ones in chill season for a total of 13, then 12 new kits in fresh season, then 9 new kits and 2 new weapons in sizzle season, and now only 8 with two new weapons, which adds up to only ten new weapons for three months. Next season are we going to get seven? Then six? Five? We’re only completing second kits, unless they change up their update system of only adding between 13 and 10 weapons a season. Just sad. Splatoon 2 added weapons faster

Each season has had exactly one less new weapon/kit than the last (13 in chill season including the three new ones, 11 last season and now only 10 this time). At this rate they'll barely scrape by getting every existing weapon a second kit by next year and we'll need one more update just for the new weapons we get by then.

I mean, I’m in IT and we have stuff planned for years ahead of release and that vision is established way before the end user receives the product. Translation: the devs or more specifically, the ***Project Managers*** are the ones calling the shots. The devs do what they’re told or at least try to do. The managers make the decisions, so are they hearing us? How do we get their attention? We are expecting three kits for every weapon, but honestly, I wouldn’t hold my breath at this pace. I could seriously talk about this all day, lol

ive been playing a lot of tristringer lately and i really disagree that the vanilla kit is "unplayable." toxic mist is underrated af, and so is killer wail and they both work well with the tristringer mechanics. autobomb on the new kit would be hype tho and as someone who mained and loved octobrush in s1 but hasnt played it since, i hope the new kit it gets is actually fun and feels good to play 😭

Mist is a skill check. Someone who understand they can Squid roll the edges can completely negate its slow and debilitating effects. It's why it's hated by alot but it has niche use cases like cutting off jump ranked routes for abit.

I think we'll get Side Order either at the mid-season patch or next season, and thats why there's been less and less kits each season. My (copium) hope is that after the 1-year anniversary and Side Order, the next year of content will be a lot more (Splatoween, Frosty Fest, SpringFest, and more new kits)

As a stringer main I am NOT ok with sprinkler. I'm already getting my special 5 to 6 times per match, (in X rank) running just one sub of special saver. Considering the sub and special don't paint that's pretty good. A lot of non tri mains don't understand that the weapon actually paints well.

Everybody has to remember that all this footage is most likely happening in the 5.0.0 balance patch so there could be some balance adjustments to sub weapon ink consumption. for example during the liquid sunshine music video we see a person using inkjet. when they do the boost thing they go significantly higher than inkjet could at the time. when we got the patch notes they buffed inkjet to have the improved boost! remember this next time you analyze stuff like this.

Im so upset at Tri Stringer having sprinkler. Sure, it might not be the absolute worst thing in the world, but much better subs (mine specifically) would have been so so SO much better. The OG stringer honestly didnt struggle getting its special as much as implied, and stuff like the mines or even an autobomb would be better even in that role. I'll wait for the special reveal, but I'm just so dissapointed regardless.

idk why chara said it struggles to get specials. i get on average 5-6 wails a game and 7 on really good games with just one sub of special charge up. and sprinkler would be so bad with it unless it gets a really good special like crab.... and after using tri stringer for nearly a year mist definitely has its very niche uses. all sprinkler does is paint and bow already does that decently specially if u know the painting tech for it

Even if the sprinkler got buffed to oblivion, the bow doesn’t need help painting. It needs help winning even the simplest 1v1s lmao. Without toxic mist you’re losing every fight that you can’t one shot.

The stages are just as bad as they always are, the kits don't look interesting, there's even less than last time because why not and other than Octo they're all weapons I don’t play anyway.
