FoxyKel love With TMJ, your jaw bone and your muscle do not align. With a normal person, the muscle and jaw bone slide past one another, causing you to be able to open your mouth smoothly. With TMJ, they do not, and the jaw bone clicks constantly when you try to open it, and sometimes it even gets stuck open. Over time, your jaw muscle slowly tighten and tighten. One of those muscles is in the back of your jaw, right under your cheek bone. If you tightly massage it like Doctor Jason is doing, it absolutely hurts like hell because by doing it, it eventually caused the muscle to finally relax, and your face feels like it droops a little bit. Totally worth the excruciating pain at first! You can totally do it on yourself, however not as effectively as our friend Doctor Jason is doing.

No if you pregnant all of your miscles and ligsments are already loose, you do not need a chiropractic adjustment it could be very dangerius for you. Go see your Doctor or try TENS.

I think I need to get this done. I yawned to wide about a year ago and a couple days later after that I had bells palsy for about 2 weeks. I had to go to the doctor and got prescribed some pills and it helped get the right side of my mouth back to moving again. But since then I notice a stiffness under my chin/ jaw. Someone please help and let me know if I need this done or something?

Hey Dr Jason, what's something I could try on my own for TMJ pain? I'm supposed to be wearing a nightguard on top and bottom, but with my dentist's office being closed at the moment, I am without a bottom guard and won't get it until May now and have been without it since February.
