Please be careful. Even though, IF is great in general but it can be dangerous for ppl who have diabetes. You should definitely consult with a medical professional before going off med and starting IF. Even though not every doctor is on top of all the latest research, but it will be a mistake to assume that they are just ignorant and you know more than them. Please do not make medical decisions solely based on the info you got from books and online.

I bought his book The Obesity Code a few years ago. I just had my annual doctor's appointment and my A1C is 4.4. My other labs are also very good. My doctor was astonished. She said that she has never seen me this healthy and that my energy has changed. I had already lost a lot of weight but I have the last 25 to 30 lb to go. I had a number of surgeries and for a time I was in a scooter unable to walk. Now I bike almost every day for 45-60 minutes. I look good and I feel good. I'm eating a very healthy diet. I don't eat any processed food at all. I do intermittent fasting sometimes OMAD sometimes OMAD with a light additional meal. If I have PT or a workout I'll have an ounce of macadamia nuts or a couple of eggs cooked in butter. I mostly maintain keto but I dip in and out as a result of the blueberries and one daily kiwi that I eat for potassium and phytonutrients. The exercise component isn't for weight loss it is for every other element of health

@spdeducatorjardincarlton8871 Жыл бұрын
@Julie Daniels because it was God who lead me to read his book! I didn't knew this man's work or to trust his perspective other than God's leading. I requested to have the surgery 9 years prior and was told that because diabetes was in my family it wouldn't change anything and I was turned down. During God's leading I took my health in my own hands and during the process many obstacles across but God allowed me to overcome and now years after being denied I am victorious. The same doctor who told me nothing would come of the process 9 years ago confessed to my wife that she knew I would have great results. So for me God deserves the credit of course the medical professionals deserve honor as well but a medical professional denied me and God lead me to redeem the time and words of a medical professional. God actually pointed me towards a medical professional that could help me!

I started a Dr. Boz 3-day sardine challenge yesterday, and last night after the third can of sardines (not bad, really!) I wanted green tea. I decided I had to eat my sardines on the best antique gold-rimmed handwash-only china I have, and that's what I'm using for my green tea. Somehow it makes eating only sardines for three days "an event" rather than "a chore." I've had a hard time finding a green tea I like and will drink, and the one I'm drinking today (it's not bad!) is Celestial Seasonings organic pure green tea.
@Kyarrix Жыл бұрын
A sardine challenge? Why not just do intermittent fasting and OMAD or 2MAD? You can do it carnivore or you can do it by including some healthy plant foods. Most of the challenges, the sardine challenge! The juice cleanse challenge! are full of it. Eat real food. Don't eat processed food. Don't eat pro-inflammatory vegetable seed oils. Unless there's something I'm not understanding I don't get the utility of a sardine challenge unless it is to challenge yourself to be as nauseous as possible from eating only sardines.

For benefits he forgot to mention life extension and gut health. Higher green tea consumption is associated with longer lifespan in studies. Also, green tea has been shown to help reduce the bad gut bacteria. I just realized that the gut bacteria effect could be related to the grelin/hunger reduction and weight loss, as higher levels of bad gut bacteria are associated with higher levels of hunger, grelin and obesity. That can also tie into life extension since the gut is responsible for metabolizing a lot of nutrients that a lot of people are deficient in.

I have been doing 21D:7D fasting. 21 day fast and 7 day feeding. Kind of extreme, but my health is in bad shape. Anyway, I drink a 20oz green tea once or twice a day when I get the bad hunger pains. By the time I am done, the hunger has passed.

I'm trying to work up to this. Currently doing 10 day fast then eating for the rest of the month. Trying to fast a few days longer each month. I have to contend with my menstrual cycle.

@@lisajligon I am hoping to get down to the 7 to 10 day extended fasts. My problem with the longer fasts is dealing with diarrhea and acid reflux. Around day 18 to 20 they get bad.

You're not fasting you are starving yourself. A fast is absolute max 72 hours / 3 days. Are you by any chance mega obese?

@@howardhamaker2708 have you tried something like Somac? I get bad reflux but have had none this fast (day 9). It's really surprised me that we still have bowel movements so long after not eating 😅

@@georgiamackinlay5706 I think what I have is BAM (Bile acid malabsorption.) I had to have my gallbladder removed. Had a 5 cm gallstone. I did find a workaround by taking some phylum hush powder. For the acid reflux, I am trying just plain old Tums this time around. Tried ACV, and it helped some, but that aggravated the BAM. I probably only have to do one more 21 day fast after the one I am currently on, so I think the issues are moot at this point.

Great video! Thank you 🙌🏻 does flavoured green tea have the same benefits? Such as strawberry? When should you drink the green tea to reduce glucose absorption? Before or after meals? Thanks again 😊

PG Tips used to do a green tea with real pieces of strawberry in it called Strawberry Cupcake. It was absolutely Delicious. But they suddenly stopped doing it. 😢😢😢 I used to have so many cup of it. And I definitely lost more weight.

You can just put some dried berries in it yourself. Or lemon wedge. Or whatever.

Thank you for the great video Dr. Fung. So does this mean that “hojicha” (roasted green tea) has the same benefits as usual green tea? I definitely prefer the taste of the former.
