Keratoconus over the past two decades has become a disease now recognized with a much greater prevalence than historically had been reported. Given that this disease is now diagnosed at a rate approximately five times greater than just twenty years ago, correctly diagnosing Keratoconus early in life can have enormous beneficial and lifelong impact to a great number of individuals. With early diagnosis, a procedure known as corneal crosslinking can be performed and alter the path of this disease by slowing or halting the progression of the disease thus sparing further destruction of the cornea, and the difficult challenges that accompany this damage, for the individual. This webinar is intended to have practitioners that care for young children rethink Keratoconus by understanding the importance of screening children for this condition.
