Hi, I am Dr.Mandakini Lahiri, an Indian Classical Vocalist . My videos are dedicated to concept of Basic training of Indian Classical Music. This particular video is based on Chota Khayal (Teentaal ) Bhimpalasi. A beautiful composition composed by Sadarang Jee .

Mam, what is a difference between Bada khyaal and Chhota khyaal ???

In Bada Khayal we drag the bandish including lyrics and taal . It’s in Vilambit laya or Ati Vilambit laya . Whereas Chota khayal is a medium laya / tempo composition
