Superb. Thank you. 49 hours ago I went over the handlebars of my bicycle at about 20 miles an hour and was unconscious when found. The ER doc was thorough regards looking for broken bones with x-rays of my wrist, my elbow, my lower back (where I landed) and my head and neck. She identified a previously undiagnosed neck fracture. However, regards my concussion she said, "you had your bell rung". The only instructions that I was given was to limit mental activity for 48 hours, and don't risk another concussion for the next seven days. I wasn't told that I should go see my regular doctor. Yes, I was given several pages of paperwork which included the usual instructions to seek medical attention in the event of persistent symptoms etc. But, I don't remember the event, and it was a rural road so I'm not sure how long I was lying there. I've learned a lot watching your videos, most importantly that I need to seek further medical attention.

Hi, Dr.Mark what's up!! Help me out🙏 I am a high school student from MIT and my friends, and I were playing a world's craziest game involving rapidly whipping our heads back and forth. I aggressively accelerated and decelerated my head, forcefully in whiplash like manner, lashing it around in an attempt to win. Afterwards, I experienced an intense and unfamiliar headache, almost like the sensation from a wound or cut. I also felt confused mentally. Feeling awkward to ask others about the question? Did I possibly suffer a concussion from this self-inflicted head trauma? And if so, is it likely I lost some neurons due to stretching and tearing?

Hey there! Can't give medical advice or make diagnosis via comments. That said, it's possible you sustained whiplash & we'd need to do a full assessment to determine concussion status. Additionally, neuron death is very rare/unlikely in mild TBI (concussion).
