Thank you for this video. I have been experiencing vertigo, swaying to one side especially for more than a month. Got an MRI which showed nothing, blood work was normal, but when I did the acupressure point release exercise, it fixed the issue at least temporarily, after a few minutes it went back to being kind of dizzy again.There would also be times in the evening I would get a racing heart for a few moments as well..Is this all related to the vagus nerve, and is now a good time to see a chiropractor? Thanks.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL....you mentioned the vagus nerve...I had researched the nerve for years because of my episodes of hyperventilatiom, tachycardia, and now I have a fib from apnea, caused by gall bladder surgery, in the 70s.

@@HMFamBlessed It was the week of my gall bladder surgery, when I began to awaken, feeling as if I was dying. I began to fear going to sleep, and ended up in the ER one time, where they kept me for four hours. I did much questioning to doctors who said it was nerves...lol...they had the nerve. We know our bodies, and we feel when something is awry. Plus...no one was treating apnea in 1972. I am going to be 79 in June. I am still learning everything I can all the time. The medical journal I read info about respiratory issues, stated..."Patients who have undergone open abdominal surgeries will likely suffer from respiratory issues." I asked my apnea NP if that was true, and her answer was "unfortunately, yes." So, I asked my former GP, if I could have a hole in my diaphragm. He said that if I did, I would be having other symptoms. I BEelieve part of my issues may be digestive, since I have no gall bladder, but it was never taken into consideration. Duh...So, I am inrterested in bile salts, but since my life has become so in volved with my husband's dementia, my needs are on the VERY back burner.

@@drmatthewposadc I called a local chiropractor yesterday, and he was clueless, or nervous about my not having a diagnosis. I told him I didn't need a diagnosis, if I was coming in for dizziness. I worked for a chiropractor years ago, and we treated symptoms, and one patient was passing out for no reason. It was a neck area that needed adjustment. Through my extensive research into the wee hours, I think I have my issue resolved. I had looked up dizziness and vertigo causes, and in one a girl was low in vitamin D. I researched that, and many symptoms were listed, but not dizziness, so I typed vit d and dizziness. Bingo! I had been skipping my 4000iu, and kept reminding myself to take it, and a mini crisis would come up. I immediately took 4000, plus an extra 2000, plus 2 K2. This morning my vertigo was so minimal. So I took another half dose this morning. I read the dosage could be 10000, but I want to do it gradually. Amazing vitamin D. I had just said to my husband when the sun was out...open the car window, so I can get some D. LOL IT was very cold outside.

I have had similar symptoms and been to various Dr’s. I finally went to a spine specialist and he ordered an MRI . His diagnosis was mine was all muscular located in the upper cervical . I started massage therapy and the therapist suggested I wear a cervical collar when I go to bed. This has given me a new lease on life and my dizziness and pain in my back and shoulders relief.

The video I saw was the one that you were wearing a light blue shirt and did the one to lay on back, turn head side to side and then roll over on face. Two minutes cured two yrs of vertigo. I only had to do it once. I had a MRI, was told to do the epley one that didn't work for me. Next they were going to put me on pills and I refused. I got vertigo from leaning my head back in a shower to wash my hair. Thanks to you, I no longer spin when I lay down or bend over, etc and I stopped walking like an old woman. I've been experiencing dizziness/vertigo for quite a while now. It started maybe 8 years ago, very mild, where I couldn't turn to look around me when I'm walking, or I start to lose my balance. In the last 6-8 months it has gotten serious. Every step I take jars my visual perception. If I'm standing and I close my eyes, I have to be touching something or I start to lose my balance. (When taking a shower I have to have an elbow touching the wall or I start to tip over.) Someone else commented mentioning the vagus nerve. I also have a chronic cough that ENTs and allergists can't figure out. Different things trigger it from food textures, talking a lot, yawning really wide and exertion. And other times a cough hits me without warning. I also seem to suffer from post nasal drip, but the nose sprays and allergy pills the allergist prescribed didn't do a thing. Could this all be related somehow? I tried your three tests, but they were all negative for me.

I have had cervical dizziness for three years. Had all kinds of test so know it isn’t eyes or ears. I have a lot of neck pain, headaches, extreme eye issues with nystagmus and being unable to focus when the dizziness starts and also bad balance issues. When it starts all I can do is lay down close my eyes and hope it lets up. . In 1995 a chiropractor ruptured two discs in my low back and I had to have surgery, needless to say I am terrified to go to a chiropractor to have this addressed , what else can be done for the neck to get the mastoid bone aligned again? Last year I spent months in physical therapy and it did help as far as how many times a week I had the dizziness also duration. It was a big help in helping me keep my balance when it suddenly starts instead of falling. Im at my wits end.

I have had this problem for a while… G.P. Sent me for an MRI on my ears which I knew would come back negative. I know the problem is coming from my neck. I was in a car accident in my early 20’s now 61 and I know my problems stem from that. The bruising on my body was the exact imprint of the seat belt. So definitely had whiplash. I’ve been to an Osteopath,Physiotherapist, acupuncturist and then finally a chiropractor who did work on me but nothing changed. I decided to wear a collar in bed as I cannot lie down without it. I can’t lie on either side luckily I naturally sleep on my back. I couldn’t sleep at all without the collar. It’s made of memory foam so very comfortable but it has to be the same width all the way around… the travel ones are no good for me whatsoever and I’m struggling to find more like the one I have. I’ve just resigned myself to living in this way. My shoulder and neck ache a lot and I have flare ups. Watching this video has spurred me on to find another chiropractor… I had one treatment and when I came out initially it felt great but before I even got home I began experiencing a flare up.I’ll do some research and hopefully find the right one for me. Thank you for sharing.

I get vertigo from time to time, which I suspect is related to my neck having seen your great video - I have bad posture and the bone behind my ears is often very sore to touch. Anyway, I recently had a very bad spell of dizziness (no spinning) and nausea, which persisted on an off for several weeks. Then I read about sinus (which I have) and vertigo with a suggestion to hold your nose and blow to clear the Eustachian tube that connects your throat with your inner ear. As soon as I did there was an "explosion" from my left ear - a loud bang followed by a gush of air. I immediately felt better. Perhaps this is something we should all do regularly. Thanks for the video, its very helpful.

I've been putting up with dizziness for the past 2 months. I am sure it is from my neck as I was extremely stressed doing computer work when it suddenly started. I also have tingling from behind my left ear, down under my jaw and down the left side of my neck to the top of my chest. I can hear crunchy sounds inside my head when I move my neck & I would feel off balanced. The more I moved my neck, the worse and longer it lasted. I was afraid to leave my apartment because I was so unsteady, but I found walking straight without moving my head has been the safest for me to get around.

I was heard. I've been struggling with vertigo, and I had Meniere's Disease in the past, but this is TOTALLY different. I've had ruptured discs in my neck for years, and I said, "I wonder if this vertigo has something to do with my neck?" When I am laying down it happens -- especially on my left side. If I lay ON my left side it feels like everything in there closes up. The ENT is telling me that I have very small eustachean tubes, and he's saying that I am majorly hearing impaired in my left ear. When I blow my nose, I hear crackling. My neck hurts very often. Sometimes, I feel like I have whiplash. I can't get comfortable sleeping. I get back headaches. After seeing this, I'm convinced it's my neck. I did the thermometer test and it was .6 off. I did the swivel chair test and everything got woozy. Thank you thank you for this video. I did the neck exercise, and I couldn't turn my neck that far and it hurt and I heard cracking, and I got dizzy.

Do you suggest a chiropractic adjustment if you have spinal stenosis to fix any vertigo?
@drmatthewposadc10 ай бұрын
I would recommend it. Especially since having stenosis is not contraindicated. In most cases, symptoms of spinal stenosis also improve. Could be a game changer for you

Thank you for the video. I have been experiencing dizziness for over nine months. I've had both a CT scan and an MRI, but both came back normal. I visited a neurologist who prescribed migraine medication, but it didn't help. The neurologist then referred me to a cardiologist, where I had a normal stress test. I'm not sure what to do next. Any tips to help?

Thanks Doctor! Is it possible a mild stroke has caused my increased dizziness please ? I had some dizziness before my stroke but it has gotten worse after it.

Yes absolutely it’s possible. I would recommend letting your family physician know and proceed with caution.

Just saw this video. Haven't tried the self test yet. When I lay on the floor, like working on a car, I get dizzy when I get up and sometimes nauseated. It seems to come from me straining my neck as I hold it up off the floor. I had a bad neck sprain 40 years ago and have had neck problems every since.

Hi, I have been to see an ENT doctor who told me I have crystals that is causing my dizziness. I also saw a general doctor who told me to go see a chiropractor. The chiropractor has been concentrating on my neck and shoulders. After my last session, which is very painful, I could not walk and was very dizzy. I could not drive home. By the way, I take Betahistine every day for my dizziness. Why does it hurt so much at the chiropractor and why did I become so dizzy after her treatment. Thank you.

Hello Dr. Posa I have been having just the unbalance feeling since 2014 from a car wreck,but I adapted to it. Just yesterday I was looking at my phone and looking down at the phone but putting a strain on my neck and as I looked up the world started to turn ,I felt my eyes trying to adjust to what was going on,we made it home and I went to lay down and was getting all the room spinning sensations but it wasn't full on spinning,so I tried to turn to either side and the spinning was there and also closing my eyes it was definitely there. I stood back to my feet and tried to walk it was normal but a slight change in my steps. Now I never experienced all of these symptoms except for the unbalanced feeling in my head. But since the forward head leaning/strain it has become bad last night. I am terrified for the first time in my life about my situation. I didn't see how to do the standing test in the video.

I suggest getting your upper cervical spine checked by a corrective chiropractor. The muscles under your skull (sub occipitals) are closely linked to your neck and eyes.

I had a severe car accident with whiplash and have lived intermittent vertigo. Sometimes I just move my neck a certain way and I get a period of lack of oxygen to my head. Makes me dizzy but passes. I think stress can cause it as well as my stress hits my neck muscle causing tension and results in a feeling of vertigo. When it happens I get into a panic mode from the feeling making it worse. What is a good way to avoid the intermittent vertigo or what is your explanation of this condition.

Could herniated discs in the neck cause vertigo? I was find my whole life and my arm started hurting and going numb I finally got an mri and showed 3 herniated discs in my neck. I got an injection and my arm doesn’t hurt anymore but I noticed I get dizzy a lot now and have headaches almost every day..could this be related to the discs in my neck?

Can someone get vertigo from a deep tissue massage? Wednesday I had an 80 min and he finished with a deep massage on my neck. And when I stood up afterwards it was the craziest dizziness I’ve ever experienced. And, I’ve had MANY massages over the years and this has never happened before. This was on Wednesday, 4 days ago and I still get crazy dizzy when I make sudden movements, at night when moving side to side or any sudden movements during the day. I’m 38 and feel too young for this. I’m scared no one will be able to help me.

Yes. The exact same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. I had a massage and she worked a long time on my neck and my head when I got up I had extreme vertigo. I've been suffering from it for 2 weeks now.

Do you think a gallbladder causing right neck/shoulder pain could be connected. Firstly, yes I’m going to my chiro as soon as they open today lol but my situation is: yesterday I started taking betaine hcl and beet flow supplements to help my digestion. After the first meal the pain in my neck on the right side (that I’m sure is from a congested gallbladder) was gone! It’s been like that for years. Then 12 hrs later I come home from work and nap, wake up and my bed felt like a boat in the ocean tossing on the waves. Now another 12 hrs and I see your videos and it’s starting to make sense. I also think if my digestion wasn’t working properly and I shocked it all of a sudden maybe some sort or minerals or blood sugar went out of whack. What do you think Doc, probably the right side gallbladder pain now being relieved causing it? The bone behind the ear is definitely sensitive
@drmatthewposadc8 ай бұрын
You are definitely on to something. I do think you need to make sure your neck is in great shape as well as ensuring your digestion/gallbladder is functioning properly. Pain can radiate/refer to your shoulders and bottom neck.

I experienced my first vertigo episode in 1990. After that, ive had several episodes throughout the years until approximately 3 yrs ago (2021) that i got rid of it by learning the epley on the internet. Since then, ive been suffering from light headedness or dizziness 24/7. An ENT prescribed betahistamine last month and it seems to help a lot better than meclizine. Ent also recommened exercise which i do a lot. Symptoms of dizziness and a little imbalance fluctuate....some good days, some bad days. Im beginning to wonder about PPPD or cervicogenic dizziness. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

What if it will not stay in alignment, after many adjustments? Tendon weakness in Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, can cause Upper Cervical instability. Stabilizing/strengthening the tendons should be done. Adjustments, which are too aggressive can worsen this problem for some people.
@drmatthewposadc10 ай бұрын
Absolutely and that’s the difference between getting a manipulation vs adjustment is so different. Understanding when and when not to adjust, how to strengthen the area and create stability is the goal for most corrective chiropractors. In my office it happens often that I don’t have to adjust the same segment sometimes for months since we create stability
