This video works through a problem involving a circuit with resistor, capacitor, and inductor in a series configuration. We examine the natural response of the capacitor voltage following a switching event.

Good man my professor made us derive these equations and expected us to derive them on the final. This is a great stepping stone in understand what we are doing and taking things down and simplifying them. Awesome thank you very much.

Sir I think v at infinity is same as v+ that is -3v . Not zero can anyone explain how its zero
@danielmonahan6127

For posterity; without any active components to maintain the potential across the capacitor, the voltage across the capacitor Vc has to decrease over time, so at infinity the voltage will drop to zero. It is due to coulomb forces as the electrons dissipate into the wire and the charges reach an equilibrium.

I have no idea how you got A1 and A2, even with the brief explanation

What will be the function of i(t)? I tried finding the derivative of Vc(t) and multiplying it by C, but the current curve obtained doesn't match my simulation.

Why is the answer v(t) and not i(t)? Would the constants just be different for i(t)?
