After all these months I finally had a chance to install the meter into my battery box. Thank you so much for the intructions as I would have been lost with the instructions.

That is a Blue Meter Killer for sure. The BEST feature is in the last seconds of the video… how awesome to see your draw/replenish in real-time!! Thanks as always for thoughtful content.

After your review I bought one on 8-28-24. About three months since you made this great video. Same form factor all exactly the same. But, the screen interface is now TOTALLY different, actually improved it. The manual now is a full two pages and colored pictures, which is very helpful. Their descriptions for the settings etc a tad better but not great . Some of the manual system descriptions do not match what is actually in the systems memory configurations. But it works great now after a lot of trial and error. . If they would just fix their manual for the average person that would be nice.

Finally a small solar/battery monitor with a shunt so you know where the heck you are solar charging and at same time drawing current with the radio stuff. I use to have a Gen-1 Power Mini, it finally died, which I liked but limited to 140w max panel. And this one for $45 sounds like a good deal. Thanks so much for the great review and intro.

Boy, was that ever a great video. You explained it very well. Thank you for making it. I'd like to purchase one but I see that the shielded cable is only 16 feet. I need a little longer cable for my RV. The LiTime and Redodo monitors come with 20 feet of cable which would work for me. Wish the data cable was longer.

Thanks for the demo. I have a different model with similar features and it has a feature that "pulsates" the display light while charging. I wonder if the "breathe" option is probably that. I was using mine in an RV and I didn't like that option because at night when the battery was charging if connected to shore power the light would be flashing all night.

Great video. I, of course, just ordered one that came in this morning. Question though, I don't see a way to mount the shunt. I plan on putting it in a battery box. Other than Velcroing it I think it may just have to hang inline. Thoughts?

I've got the renogy version, much more expensive, no colours but does essentially the same job, if this one would have been available back then, I'd get this one. It's just so much better than the V/A ones

I wonder what the current draw is when nothing is plugged in. I made the mistake of leaving my solar charge controller plugged in with no solar and it drew the battery down to almost dead. Needed to charge it to get the solar charge controller to work again. Now, when I don't use the battery for a long time, I leave nothing connected to it. I want to build a battery box but worry about current draw when I don't use them for a while.

With lithium, I can tell you that you should be careful about the ovp auto 100%. You can have an "artificially swollen/sagging voltage" measurement while under load. Usually proper chargers have multistage current/voltage settings. At least 2 stages is best. Bulk and float. The bulk stage will be a high current stage where the voltage "target value" is higher than peak causing the current value to be higher. And the float stage will set the target to the lower peak value to allow the current to be low AND allow the BMS to enable balancing which is usually only possible while the current value is "near zero" but not below. I can explain more later if you like. (Source: energy storage commissioning/field tech.)

Hey Mike few questions on the charging. If I come home from and activation and put the box on charge will the controller come on and show the charging (+ draw and the battery charging) or must you have the min negative draw that you set it to to stay on. if you unhook the battery to charge I assume it will show the state of charge 100% or whatever you pull it off the charger at when you plug it back in because its programed for the battery. Does the sound correct.

Have you tried the DROK with a Bioenno that has the DC charging plug? I’m trying to wire one up and not having any luck. I’m not for sure if I have something not wired up right or what. Plus mine won’t shut off. It just gets real dim and I have the settings set like the videos.
