As a drone pilot, flying near airports is a big no no, however I’m beyond disappointed at how quickly they addressed civilian drone operators (licensed or not) in comparison to the ongoing drone issue along the coast. Biden never said they are all just small airplanes either, There are two drone Experts non government related that said most of the videos they have seen of all the bigger ones were manned aircraft in particular the V22 Osprey were shown in a lot of them. Most of the other reports are under 55lbs and can easily be bought. China is one of the biggest suppliers and a lot of their larger ones recognize restricted areas and can not be flown inside of those areas. There are like a million registered drones in the US but probably 5 times as many that are not registered. Not my opinion just stated facts of UFO and drone experts with like MUFON and guys that work at like Skinwalker ranch.

When one high profile incident occurs somewhere, and then along the way something similar takes place, the idea they use is to give the secondary story extra attention, for clicks and engagement, because they know the topic is currently "hotter" than usual. It wasn't all that different with print media, really. Take advantage when there's heightened public interest. It's not that the story is fake or conjured up - these guys obviously have done something that others previously have been charged with - it's just that online media is now driven by getting eyes on their links and sites.

This is part of the process of protecting the sky dude. You cannot fly your little mavic drones near airports, state parks etc. Things like this incident have happened since we could buy small drones, and the FAA slaps heavy fines on violations. So this arrest is not out of the blue. They sent a helicopter to ground a small drone filming footage at a DC park (great falls) a few years back.

Those drones in Ohio didn't fly in from the east coast. The FAA should require drone operators, especially those operating at night to file a flight plan just like pilots of private planes do! You can see what private plans are supposed to be over an area at any time. Why are drones granted anonymity? This would all be a non issue if we all followed the same rules.
